Some more photo's of the day, just need some film footage of that gorgeous Peak District countryside now, hint, hint. Andy's car Martyn and Sue's car Rhett's car Ian's car Dave's car Kevin and Luke's car And my cutey We had the builders out with us today, the knowledge and experience sat around the table at lunch time was phenomenal, it put's me very much at ease owning a Westfield. I kept looking in my mirror and it looked like there was a lot of fun at the back with the two red one's, I hope everyone enjoyed it and I very much look forward to the next one, which is on July 16th2 points

Fantastic Applecross this year (again) The weather on Saturday was fantastic as was the run. I think the ferry turned it into more of an adventure, it was worth the waiting to get us all across and the crew were really good. I even got home before the rain started properly. Thanks to Bob & Rab for organising, Alan for driving the van, Kev and Kyle for cooking off the BBQ food and especially to Wee Dov and Kay for preparing the BBQ even though you couldn't come. To everyone else, thanks for being there to you all added to the enjoyment of the weekend (having extra carers for the Pensioner was also some respite for me )2 points

Hi everyone, thank you once again for your help. After another examination once I saw your posts and photo, I found that only one of the screws was actually screwed into the plate inside the tank, the other missed the plate completely, I cannot imagine how this has come about, anyway once all the screws were in their correct place the plate pulled up fine and compressed the rubber seal. Thanks a lot. Cheers, Mick2 points

As said above if it looks like this I would say you need to take it out & find some new screws/bolts.2 points

Mine only has the one big hole. You have a disk on the inside with threaded holes that when tightened up clamps the tank between it and the sender. There should be a gasket. One of the screws is longer than the rest. All the short screws are removed and the long one is losened. This is to allow the plate to be losened off and the whole sender and plate can be twisted out (there is a gap in the circumference of the disk to allow this) Quite hard to explain :/2 points

Well what a smashing day. Set off at 8.30am to meet Roger and Judy in Driffield. From here we headed over to Ampleforth via Castle Howard. The roads were standing traffic because of the car show so we diverted. Just after Ampleforth we came into a group of around 200 motorbikes and the majority of them had camping gear so there must be an event on somewhere. It is the first time I have travelled DOWN Sutton Bank at 20mph. There were just no gaps to overtake the bikers anywhere. Arrived at our meeting point to meet Guy, Bart and Aaron. Its always amazing to see cars in real life that you only see either on here or in the magazine. We all left together but Aaron was unable to stay with us due to engine problems. It was great to meet you Aaron and hope you get the issue sorted. Guy and Bart also carried out running repairs to their handbrake and they managed to sort out the issue. Great food in Muker where we met with Chris and John.......You can tell they are "ard" up north as I don't think any of Chris's crew know what a windscreen is. We had some good banter and great food and everyone got on together which is the important bit. Chris and John said cheerio, and headed north whilst we headed south. We travelled on a number of single track roads with steep inclines and hairpin bends and all the time, coming towards us were dozens of classic and vintage cars. I thought at one point, one was going to take Buttercup,s wing off. The last 100 miles were done in the rain but it did not spoil the day. Great people, great food, great cars and great scenery. What could be better than that. Thanks to Carol, Roger and Judy, Guy and Bart, Chris and John, Aaron and.....me for making today a good one.1 point

I am not sure if this is of interest as the video is a bit long. This is Dukes Pass near Aberfoyle and its a brilliant piece of road. Loads of twists and turns and stunning views. The video does not do it justice. I thought I would post it as its a great road to go on if you are in the area. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IdW9mSqXvM1 point

Looks the ideal road for the seven type car Exactly the type of road I've been blasting around mid and north wales on this year! Could do with some induction/exhaust noise though in your video to drown out that classical guff!!!1 point

Oh dear Gareth, it sounds like the back problem is bad, what a shame, young Fraser would have loved all the cars today, it was a very good turnout, fingers crossed it gets better soon. We met at Matlock and had a moving car show as we watched all sorts of cars drive past on the way to Cromford. After some quick introductions we made the whole 5 minute journey down to the show and parked up. Luke and Gemma's car Alan's car Cherrill and Peter's car Oh, me, I was there too, and Glen of course.1 point

Soft Bits for Sevens is the company name, AFAIK, they're the only company other than Westfield, that have patterns for, and advertise the supply of, half hoods. There are various trimmers, and hood specialists dotted around that have done one off's for club members, but, WSC and SBfS are the only two that really advertise them.1 point

Try Softbits top quality...they have had a difficult year...but worth a call1 point

So it was the fuel pump. It was a loose connection on a kill switch (assembled 8 years ago). The trailer collection activities were not without their fun moments. Drive back to Derby, collect trailer, return to Curborough. Tie down straps....Ah they will be at home, back to Derby again. I guess you normally leave home with the car using the tie down straps, so they don't need to be added to the mental checklist.1 point

All ready to go. See you all soon.1 point

Must admit, given the distances some of us had travelled to get there, I was surprised I was the only one to brim the tank at Ashbourne - but then I know how Julie's routes tend to take you down winding country lanes without a petrol station in sight! Your car makes some lovely impressive "old skool" sounds on the back roads! A pleasure to follow.1 point

The larger bits came back from the powder coaters today. Im really pleased with the finish, its 99% perfect and only cost £96 all in. I found a prime position to start the build: The wife didnt have the same opinion on where the build should continue so it was relegated to the garage. (it made it longer than i expected) Mike1 point

Other things have stopped progress for a while but i found a set of forks on eBay complete with triple trees. They're in very good condition, the trees will need powdercoating and i'l replace the oil and seals but they're fantastic for £52 posted.1 point

Thanks Chris, i must say i'm really enjoying the rebuild, it definitely won't be my last. I suppose i'd best look in to learning how to ride and taking my test. Tonight i got the main an secondary shafts in place. I ran through all 5 gears and each one engages smoothly, so the transmission is done until the cases are reassembled and i put the primary and starter clutch in.1 point
