We met at The Wheatsheaf on a bright, sparkly, sunshiny day. It must have warmed up because I was actually able to discard one of my coats, although I still have everything else on, hats, arm warmers, ear muffs etc A double thank you to Martyn and Sue for coming along and bringing Rebecca and Andy. A new member called Alan came along too, we briefly met Alan a while back when he had just bought his car. I remember him because he was the first person that I had met that actually lived in the Peak District National Park. Alan came in his car called Thundernuts, no messing with that name is there? We were paid a visit by ex-member and ex-Westfield owner Tricky too. The Wheatsheaf We set off by going along one of the 'hidden roads' from a previous outing. We went past the tourist hot spots, Monsal Head and Castleton, before turning onto our new road by Cave Dale. It is fairly narrow to start with, up and around the corkscrew, before reaching the wide smooth flowing bendy bits. Barely another car or cyclist in sight, it is just not a well known road, it is 'hidden' We, well I, actually, needed a wee so I decided to stop us for a pit stop at The Anchor Inn. This pub has a great position on a crossroads, so we got to view all the nice bikes and cars that were having their day out in the Peak District while we sat outside with a brew, and there were a lot of them. Martyn had to spoil it though didn't he...I mean caravans, uurgghh, you can honestly not admire caravans Martyn. I really think we need to have words, it may mean that you can't come out with us anymore if this vile behaviour carries on The Anchor Inn Suitably refreshed (especially when Rebecca got the sweeties out, yum yum) we set off for the final leg of the journey down the great Crowdecote road and to The Tea Junction at Hulme End for homemade soup and cakes. Andy found the biggest puddle in the car park to park next to, and yes, Rebecca had to get out of the car at the drivers side. Hulme End The cars looked beautiful today, all very shiny in the sunshine, the cars and company have been bob on, thank you everyone, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have. Another thank you to everyone that voted for me in the Spirit of the Club Award, I hope to see you at 1pm in the tent at Stoneleigh, where I can thank you personally, as well as Geoffrey who nominated me. What a fantastic, friendly club this is4 points

Ian and Andy, a massive thank you for taking me out for a ride and for the pearls of wisdoms. I have advised the Caterham seller that I am no longer interested, and already paid for the HPI check (all clear), and arranged to pick up my new Westie next weekend. Looking forward to the first blatt... And yes thank you, I'll be taking it very easy on the way home.4 points

So that was a great couple of hours. Hope you enjoyed the ride and I think you'll now make the right decision Give me a buzz any time you need anything and of course, as you can see, there is always someone here who can offer advice, assistance, etc. when you need it. Final bit of advice, along with everything we discussed and what others have said above. Take it REAL slow on the way home, we did some reasonably fast stuff today but we "kinda" know what we are doing. The traction changes with changing weather and temps across the day and I notice the car you are thinking of has R888 tyres which may be a little snappy when cold and certainly more so than mine or Tolf's were on the road today... Get it, get home slow and safe and then we'll have some fun2 points

I'm surprised the British Steel Industry is in trouble with the amount they get through2 points

Scott, you don't mean the steel coloured centre part do you? That's the laminates and the elliptical gouges are balancing machining. I looked carefully at the copper windings at each end in your second picture and saw nothing.1 point

That is correct, Dave. Cooling hot humid air through the dew point can cause enough water condensate to create a misfire. A very small drain hole on the intercooler is one possible solution but obviously isn't great for holding high boost pressures!1 point

I can tread water in my pyjamas for 2 minutes and fetch a brick from the bottom of the pool.1 point

I don't think I will have the clearance but will have a better look later. I also discovered that the rubber bush that held the silencer on had sheared, and due to the lateness of the day I looked for something to keep me on the road. I spotted a drum sander so stripped it down and used the rubber drum - perfect! Im getting the hang of this kit car fettling' business.1 point

The car didn't have anything to charge my phone or run a sat nav when I bought it so I had fitted a 12v supply that I had on my Aprilia from Ultimate Addons, the only problem was that it required their special cables to charge whatever you needed. When I looked on their site I came across this http://www.ultimateaddons.co.uk/Vehicle_Accessories/Motorcycle_Accessories/5V_2A_Power_Supply_with_2_USB_Ports_and_Cigarette_Socket_Handlebar_Mount Its worked a treat as the handlebar mount attaches to the bar under that dash, its neat ad had both USB and cigarette style plugs.1 point

Cleggy will be in the Marquee with his range of branded WSCC apparel. The windproof jackets are a must - I bought one last year and its great, even at 70.01 mph!!!1 point

Is everyone happy with the rota that I put together for this year's Stoneleigh? Hopefully the couple of errors in the first attempt are now ironed out. If anyone has any queries or issues, please let me know asap so I can amend. Only 3 weeks to go now Many thanks Ian1 point
