  1. Well that would be a pass then, though I'm sure the tester was desperate to pick on something during the re-test! Still, here we go: And the the vital piece of paper, at last: Just leaves the the battle with the DVSA now.

  4. Awesome roads to play on Kevin, thanks for taking the lead, and some of the best fish and chips I've eaten down south. Pete..... I'm never eating those rotten ones from Southminster again.... unless I'm starving that is..... Great to catch up with Jim at last, I know we kept missing each other last year then I think year end work sort of finished it for you, that's a tidy motor you've got there too. Russ I like that roll cage..... I might just have to get one fitted..... might take the ASBO over the ton with the extra steel !! I'll have to email the pics to Pete..... might push him along and get his house move finished !! Cheers all for the run out...... Nem................

  8. I won't repeat the full details, they're in a different thread, but basically it failed on the speedo calibration. The Stack speedo uses an odd system to calibrate itself, that isn't adjustable/tweakable and doesn't (being American made, I guess) allow the margin of error that we have in the UK. Essentially, first time round, it was reading only slightly over true road speed at 30/40 mph, till by the time you got to an indicated 70, you were actually doing a measured 70, and above this, the speedo said you were doing lower speeds than you actually were. Because the speedo can only be calibrated by driving a fixed (two mile) distance in set up mode, I couldn't fix it there and then in the lane. I shortened my calibration "course" to about 1.8 miles, which made the speedo indicate 70 mph for a true road speed of 65 mph (GPS measured) and on the re-test, this was sufficient "margin".

  10. We had a weekend of mixed fortunes.. Pete got a class win and third overall, plus fastest lap on Saturday, followed by a drive shaft failure while in fourth place on Sunday. I took a few photos, which are uploaded here: http://s133.photobucket.com/user/dixonandrew/library/NSSCC%20Cadwell%20Pril%2018th?sort=3&page=1 May get some vids up at some point. Few pics of Pete and Mark.

  11. Well the new Public Relations management at Cadwell has made a great difference. Padock parking all sorted, with no over spill even down to class within the championship parking. Scruitineer shook my hand and introduced himself by name! pretty unheard of in Racing. As for the racing well I bagged a class win on Saturday and a second on Sunday by 0.5 seconds. Just used the GoPro for the first time, pretty impressed - videos to follow
