  1. We do have members from all walks of life, some find swearing offensive others don't, such is life. We have never yet has a post reported because no one swore in it! We have many members with young children; many of these little ones like sitting with daddy, browsing through the forum looking at the pictures of cars that are just like daddy's. Again, many of these daddies dislike explaining to the little one some of the more choice words before they have to... And lastly, we've experimented with the "lets allow mild" stuff, just like they do on the beeb; steadily threads got more and more aggressive language wise as those that didn't watch Top Gear and appreciate being called a dangler was a good thing would strike back with slightly worse, things just kept spiraling.

  2. At work I swear like a dock yard worker becaurse I work on construction sites and its the only language some people understand but I quite like the civilised nature on this forum. I know most are not that bothered by it but there are some that don't. Insults can soon start flying if your not careful.

  3. I think/hope the show will have little resemblance to the old one - it just won't work with different presenters with the old format I don't see any reason why it can't have many more presenters doing a variety of car related stuff - forget the destroying caravans, that has been done to death I would like to see more road trip adventures without the scripted stuff ( think Ewan and Charlie in the long way round but with cars - that was a great watch with proper hardship, laughter and tears) I would like to see more in depth Chris Harris style road tests rather than just the sideways hooning I would also like to see more reviews on cars that average joe has some potential of actually owning rather than hyper cars and why not presenters reporting on world car scenes, spending time on the Japanese ricer scene, American hot rod scene etc - think Louis Theroux type stuff I watched the Mickey Flannehan Detour de France a few weeks back and him and his sidekick were hilarious What am I trying to say - yes the replacements are important, but not as important as refreshing the show I guess Ramble over :-)

  6. Swearing has its place and I can swear with the best of em. But why would you want to write it down on a forum?

  7. I run major construction projects with a team of site managers under me and we all agree that there is nothing worse than a load of swearing and we actively encourage a non swearing environment on our projects.

  8. Should add, with the day job, I'm split between office stuff and site work, which means many hours on construction sites, which exactly as Stu said means swearing is just endemic, but neither I nor most of the builders would dream of going up to the clients and speaking the same way!

Sorry if you are truly skint then, 1 stop eating so much - food costs money 2 stop smoking- fags cost money 3 go out and try to find a job- be useful to society 4 get rid of the pet- pets cost money God these people p**s me off

  11. Missed that one, apologies. During the day there is Members Drop off area that is manned so your bag will be safe there. If you want it any safer than that or stored overnight then you'll need to take up Bob's kind offer or one of the others who may have space in their tin-tents. ETA: must type faster Glad it's sorted.

  13. Stu. Not an s2000 man myself but in the 'Family' as it were. You don't have to buy all the parts from Westfield, lots of items are available elsewhere should there be supply problems.

Two very different laps, mine was very scruffy and Luke's tidier. Strangely we both posted the same time....exactly the same time! Harewood Next! Rich
