  1. Has anyone else realized that a thread with 'cat poo' in the title is clocking up more views and replies than any other thread on this forum at the moment. Whatever floats your boat. :)

  2. John, That's a great example for anyone who fancies competing, it's not always about winning your class etc, it's about your sense of achievement when you see you are getting better. Then just building on that, it's part natural ability and part learned. Keep up the good work

  3. Wow, with torque flat between 5-6.5k and power flat at the top, you can put your shift point anywhere you like! That must fly

  4. That Vauxhall was running a 302 chevy v8 under the bonnet, it looked quite a handful keeping it in a straight line Another very enjoyable show for me this year. I bumped into a couple of WSCC members, spent some time working my way through the trade stands and also had some useful conversations with some companies about parts for the JW4.

  10. Not entirely happy about the alternator light (it sort of flickers), so am going to give that a 2nd thought on how to resolve this, but other than that, it started on the button and after a while of spluttering and puffing, it sort of settled on an idle again.

  11. What did the car weigh in at Barney? I can't imagine what 250bhp in a westie must be like

  12. I hope Brum2013 enjoys it. I used to own this car about 12 (or more) years ago, I think I was the 2nd owner.

  14. Had a superb day out yesterday at Stoneleigh with my brother - and going by the numbers of "old geezers" (us included ) it seems to be very popular with those that remember the sports and racing cars from the 50's, 60's and 70's (I wouldn't have been surprised to see a bunch of Nurses pointing us in the right direction and handing out incontinence pads as we queued for the gents !! ) I didn't actually spend much as I think I've just about got everything I need at the moment (nice bacon bap and some wire brushes about it ) though my brother went to town on a load of tools and bits and bobs (he was chuffed to bits to find two of those Smiths speedometer brackets - the individuals ones with the rolled ends - cost him all of £2 instead of £9 each from a restoration company). I had a good chat with Troy from Northampton Motorsport as my Westie is booked in for the first week in March. I felt really sick when I saw a couple of Brabhams and a listing for a BT21B - I had two in the early 70's and sold both for peanuts (I think) - they're now going for £60k plus Oh well...... Anyway - can't make up my mind which car I'd have from the show - possibly the BRM V16 (1500cc two stage supercharged - 600bhp) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZMPDCNyQxE or a brand new "retro" Lister Jaguar - superb enginering and that rolled aluminium bodywork was a work of art... Maybe this time next year Rodney.....
