  1. It’s that time again (well almost!) I thought I’d post another diary of the SKCC (southern kit car club) trip as the 2022 Alps one went down quite well. (and most likely a video afterwards) Genuinely I cannot wait, counting down the days! We postponed the 2023 trip (due to the organiser @Tony Bee not being able to ride his mountain bike and falling off!) so this is much needed, especially after the last year or terrible British weather we have experienced. Were all off on 12th June. The same Seven sevens (Westfields) reunite for 10 days of mountain twisties in the sun. @Ricky_B Joint Kent AO @barryO @kenton @Mark Bishop @Rich T The rough plan is 3 of us are travelling from UK to France via the euro tunnel and the 4 from the south coast are jumping on the Ferry travelling from UK to Diepe where we will all meet in Rouen the first night and then the following day convoy south through France to the mountainous playground on the French/Spanish border. We will spend the week in the Pyrenees and then all do a big loop back up through France and back to the tunnel on the 22nd. For now, it’s car prep time, fit a new set of rubber, change some euros and pack the essentials - oh and explain the finer detail of the “few days away” trip duration to the wife 😅 more to follow…. ☀️ 🏔️ 🍺

  2. I went to the gaydon gathering last night, all sorts of vehicles in attendance plus they got a prototype D-type out the museum and gave it a blast up and down the road. Think this sums up the vast range ...

  3. Oh, l'm a long time fan, my first 4 wheeled car was a MK3 Spitty, The simplicity of it has never left me. straight forward to work on and even today spares are plentiful . ETA With a bit of luck, this should be mine by the end of the day... Got from the classic car club on the Wirral I am also in.

  4. Evening! Yes, I usually open submissions on the publication of the Autumn edition of WW (late August/early September), with a deadline a week or so before the Winter copy deadline. It means the submission window is normally open about 6-8 weeks for people to send stuff in.

  6. Nice Triumph TR6 for me this morning on the way in. It appeared to be one which has been entered into competitions of some sort, white roundel and driver and navigator names on the side. I didn’t catch them clearly, perhaps Bryan Green as driver? Some info and pictures of this car here from when it was sold previously. https://www.castleclassiccars.co.uk/showroom/vehicle/12/Superb-Triumph-TR6

  11. @Andy Malone - Editor will advise. I save them on my PC in a folder ready throughout the year and then bury him, once he advises it's open 😉 This shows it was Aug in 2023, so you'll need to be patient

  13. Luck is with me today, car is mine, deposit paid , just gathering balance. I'm not selling the Westy, that will stay with me until my friend has the space to keep it, failing that it will stay with me and I will build a cover for the new one. All because of a back issue that's got a lot worse than when it was last scanned 10 years ago, oh well at least I am still on the road with something.

  16. I know I have one of the 540 and it puts a massive smile on my face every time I start it. When people hear it, you can see them looking to see what’s creating that glorious sound, once they spot it, they just watch as you drive past often pointing, smiling and on occasions taking photos 😊

  18. Likewise and I live by the sea, you only have to show a steel bolt to my air and it's brown in a hour or so, not a joke I did it once to test.

  19. 2mm thick external grade 316 stainless steel, mine has survived multiple euro wasp impacts at circa 115mph at the Nordschleife without damage 😁

  20. I was going to suggest that but the ones that Marcus did were stainless steel as far as I could make out, never rusted put it that way. Unless of course ( and I'm not into them to know otherwise) they also can do metal now as well as plastic. Although I guess a plastic one well prepared and painted up would look cool.
