Now I have to decide the best setting......as this is just a Hero, not an HD, I only get two options, Hi or Lo

Hi quality

Lo quality

Sorry about the ugly mug on there

What do you think - I guess the best way will be a road test, as the garage is a confined space. Both videos were also take with the waterproof case slightly open, will this reduce noise much when clamped shut?

Gopro reccomend the low setting for cars but go for a drive and see what works best :)

Shutting the door should help the noise, if nothing else it should stop some of the buzzing from the camera vibrating.

P.s. did you know your garage walls are bowing out :d

Yeah I saw the instructions, but not sure if Lo setting affects the picture quality?

As for the garage walls - I had never noticed that before

What's with the cable tie??

did it not say in the instructions to open to garage to avoid passing out and eventual death? :p

Have you got a swarm of bees under your bonnet instead of an engine? Fairly eco friendly choice though I guess? :d

The waterproof case clip is broken

Clips are available as spares from Go Pro I believe.

Your mount is sound. As for audio - you'll never get a nice track with an external action camera like the GoPro without a separate sound recorder. I've posted a load of details on one. It is around £90 though :-(

I understand with making you own and all that, but why not just buy the right GoPro package which comes with the roll bar mount or just buy the roll bar mount.

This is the GoPro Roll Bar Mount

Because making things gives a good satisfaction. Like the proud feeling I get every time I get in the car, I made it and it feels good :d

The mount cost me nothing to make apart from time, so why not.

Yes it is not as nice as a proper gopro mount I am sure, but it does the same job ;)

I had a look on the website and could not see any Dave?

Try our friendly neighbourhood Dog Cam Sport, here...

(they're "Back Door Clips" if you need to search for them.)

Forgot to add, I was recommended to gently ease the pressure off the clip when opening and closing the case, helps avoid breakages.
