Mattt
I'm looking to get the MSA half cage, but fitted professionally as I don't trust myself not to balls up the cutting of the bodywork (especially with fixed rear stays). I rang the factory a while back, and was promised a call - but that never came. I've just emailed them, so will see what comes back (if anything). Anyone else had theirs fitted by the factory or a decent outfit (near Peterborough if possible)? I did emailed Custom Cages for a price for supply & fit, but they were looking around the £750 mark if we had 5 people interested which seems a bit high unfortunately. dhutch
"Half cage" = Braced roll over bar?
Mattt
It's this one, I just spoke with Mark and it worked out to just under £900 fitted - if there are a few more people interested (now the RAC roll bar isn't allowed by the MSA for events) then they can do something on the pricing. Lawrie
Did Mark say the RAC bar was a Dodo?
WestyNottm
My half cage was supplied and fitted by the factory and they did an excellent job. I also let them have my car for several weeks to assist them in developing the half hood to match which I also purchased. Recommended by me! Mattt
Lawrie, I mentioned what I'd read and he agreed.
Lawrie
Thanks. I thought so. Although mine is one of the rare ones that's welded at the top, its rose joints at the bottom, and I can't see that they're listed as an acceptable fitting in the drawings. The real problem is fitting, as there are already slots in the boot box, and as the MSA ones are higher, it'll need some more carving out - possibly too much. So that's some more things for Santa's list.
Mattt
I only skim read the other thread, but isn't part of the problem related to tube diameter and thicknesses also?

Seems a bit steep for the fitting given the price the bar sells at. Dave
Terry Everall
You can buy a Playskool or Caged full cage for around that money and its far safer. I do understand if you want to keep weather gear etc but I hate that stuff and always used waterproofs and a helmet on road. It really is easy to get in and out of a full cage even on the road

Andy (Sycho)
That = £570 for a day's work to fit it, that can't be right. Speak to procomp I'm sure they would fit it for half that.

Only a few hours to fit a half cage really!
Mattt
They reckoned much longer due to the fixed rear stays and calculating hole positioning.
