I must say that not getting the 'best' quote first time from a broker makes a nonsense of their very existence. Their renewal quote usually includes a covering letter that states they have scoured the market place for the best quote available (limited by their panel of chosen insurers).

Out of principle, I do not give them a second chance if I find it cheaper elsewhere. After all, they would have taken the higher amount if not challenged.

How is that acting in your best interests?

Similar has just occurred to me.

Renewal was £230 from A-Plan

Called Adrian Flux who gave £190, said I'd think about it and they offered £175 all in with superior cover, increased value and lower excess. Awaiting documents to check it over now.

(being 28 has pricing issues but I don't mind!)

Don't call them on their freephone number as they will lose all the profit from the premium.

Here's how...

I asked for a quote for my tin top and the Westy, so they said £381 for both - bargain, says I. So they quote comes through and it says £381 for the Honda, no mention of the Westy. I ring up and they say, there should be another one for the Westy, but for 1p - as that's how they do the two car policy!

i will ring tomorrow and say I accept the Westy quote and see what they say ;)

What Honda have you got? Wonder if they will do me the same deal when my Honda is due!
