My next build - a Lotus Super 7
Flying Carrot Steve replied to Paul Baker's topic in Stuff & Nonsense
Don't feel bad @Paul Baker, my son bought me a 'build your own V8' model engine with moving parts about 5 years ago. It's still in its box unopened 😂 -
Do you make stone guards also? for an FW body.

My next build - a Lotus Super 7
Richard (OldStager) replied to Paul Baker's topic in Stuff & Nonsense
Maybe a project for those rubbish winter evenings then, do start a thread in the Build Diary section, we love seeing photos, and as many of us here have built them before if you have questions one of us will know ( will be Robin we all know that - he is the expert it seems from all the models he has shown me previously, LOL) Hope the train set up goes well, reminds me of my own childhood... Richard -
Very little progress to report! I have successfully opened the box, examined all parts and bought the correct red colour paint, but actual construction hasn’t commenced yet. In my defence, my son has started building a hornby model railway and he’s roped me into helping with that over the last few months

In an incredible act of automotive sleuthing 🕵️😉, I tracked down an oil leak which was from one connection to my oil cooler. After an equally fine piece of diagnosis at our meet last night, Malcolm @Wessex pronounced ‘Stu, your oil cooler is f****d!’ 🤣 ‘Nuff said, replacement ordered and hopefully will be fitted this weekend so I’m up and running again. -

The Meandering Thoughts of a Fickle Mind & Potential Regret (Anyone Else Like Me?)
Stuart Davis (fatblokestu) AO - Devon & Somerset replied to Westygav's topic in The Start Line
Bought one in 1994, owned it for about 14 years, crashed it, sold it to a mate who did it up and he owned it for about 14 years. When he wanted to sell it, I couldn’t bear to see it likely disappear to France so I bought it back a year or so ago. Won’t be selling it again 🤪. It will hopefully go to my son when I am too decrepit to drive it! -

Apple iPhone 15 info required
Richard (OldStager) replied to Richard (OldStager)'s topic in Stuff & Nonsense
Ah , I didn't know that @Stuart thanks. Maybe why I was struggling with it then aside from its outdated firmware. I found trying to find things didn't make sense compared to the Apple product. If you recall ( its was a while ago now about 3 years?) I said I hadn't owned one before, and so the iPhone was the first one I had, even as a fresh user I found it quite easy to find my way around, not so with the Samsung. Oh and the reason I didn't want to pay all at once for car tax is due to this purchase, I knew I needed a new phone already and over a grand out of my account wasn't ideal in the same month. I have bought cars less expensive than the phone today. -
Too late then I guess. I've had both and prefer Android. But Samsungs aren't typical Android; Samsung install a 'skin' over the top of the Android OS and install 'bloatware' which I don't like. A stock Android phone is different, you can tailor it exactly as you want it - and there are plenty of decent budget ones out there from about £150 up.
