Dry run this weekend in the tintop to make any updates necessary to the road book, I had forgotten just how good this route is! you guys participating are going to really enjoy it, the scenery is stunning but I did struggle today with pictures 😅 a few better ones 😎 -
Was wondering if it was what I just went through after a 6 month, lay up - but yours sounds different. New pump I think, one of my old ones needed tapping then one day it stopped altogether on a run. I got one from someone on here, those red top ones, but I do have a fuel reg to limit that down for carbs.

Started with no spark on Good Friday. New distributor cap, rotor arm. Carbs needed to come off as rotor arm was rusted in. New fittings for carbs, started fine. First time out today, started ok, then started missing, then stopped. Wouldn't start again. Fuel pump not working, so tapped back into life. AA followed me home then car stopped on my street again. Taking the pump off tomorrow and see about a new one. Don't know how old it is, but it's been fine for the 11 years I've owned the car. -

A fantastic day at sunny hunny with me, bigfoot aka tony and his wife. We spent the day there and are very sun burnt. Met loads of people who took pictures of our cars plus a traffic warden. Sadly not a big turnout but we put westfields in peoples minds.- 1 reply

I had the same. The big tyre guns - Quick-Fit, Hi-Q, National or said no others said yes till I turned up then said no. Chemix Autocentre done the work 👍 & Four Ashes MOT Centre plus TTR motorsport also could have done it but not for a few weeks. Chemix was same day 👍👍

Thank you. Only had the car just over a week and I didn't fit them. My google-image research though points to them being Avid1-AV12's. They're 15" diameter, unsure of width or offset I'm afraid.

Love those wheels SteveG. What are they and what size. Thanks.

The Meandering Thoughts of a Fickle Mind & Potential Regret (Anyone Else Like Me?)
Stuart replied to Westygav's topic in The Start Line
@Westygav if that's Mark's old car then it had a lot of perfectionist money put into it. Most attention to every detail I've seen on any Westy. IIRC he called it 'Old Skool' and it had stickers to that effect. Think it did very few miles per year as well so it could be kept perfect. -

Sorted. Just need to change the oil filter and fill him up and we are good. It was an almost perfect fit, just had to adjust a couple of the brackets. -

If he’s reasonably tech savvy that should be ok. 👍 -
Thanks for that. Last year I asked at national tyres and the guy said he couldn't get past the first screen.Vot is your car! I tried to put forward that maybe there is a base setting to allow you to adjust to your own specs but he was adamant it wasn't possible.

Thanks @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman, a job for this evening then, Andy is fairly tech savvy but not likely to use the forum much at this stage, I thought it would be a good idea while I'm still here ( not planning on "going anywhere" BTW) and then he has his own access to not only help from everyone on here but can the read my build page to see what I did regarding part XXX or whatever, besides which he likes to know what I am tinkering with when he calls so I can now point him here. What I had planned was ( as you suggested) log out of here, go to the create an account page ( not sure where that is now, but I'll find it) do a username and password , then at this point I have a username to sign up with ( I think its what I did originally ?) once done , I will email him the username and password under the proviso he changes that password immediately ( I don't need to know it) . Then we're done as I see it. If that sounds ok then a job for tonight. -

I know plenty that have happily moved on to the next project. But they usually divide up into certain groups, the “I’ve developed the car as far as I possibly can” group, the very low use “it’s only got annual mileage to and from the MoT” group, the “I enjoyed it, but the novelty has worn off” or “I like it but struggling with health to use it” groups etc. Then you have the other side of things, the “itchy feet” group; often used to changing regular cars every two or three years, who do still use and enjoy the car, but have other car related boxes they want to tick. I understand fully the desire to try something else, if only to satisfy curiosity. Sometimes the grass is greener, but a surprisingly high number end up coming back to Westfield’s. - sometimes finding that they struggle to recapture quite the attachment they had to that first car! It sometimes takes a few goes to find a new Westfield that’s the right fit for them. -
New member question
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman replied to Richard (OldStager)'s topic in Membership Information ONLY
In principle, there’s no problem with this. In practice, we see issues arise occasionally, depending just how “un savvy” the third person is! Incidentally on a separate, but slightly related note, members are perfectly legitimately able to transfer their balance of membership over to another person, when selling the car. Most don’t, and like to stay on for a while, but the option is there. (Needs to be done via the Membership Sec for anyone looking to do it.) But back to the question. Physically all that needs to be done is from a machine not logged on to the forum, create a new log on name, using a different email address, and set a password. Once that log on has been created, the new account has a month to upgrade from free trial to a paid member, via the shop tab near the top of the forums main page. And that’s essentially it. Where it gets complicated! (This is rare, but…) The biggest support issues come when a friend or family member tries to help someone who really doesn’t know what they’re doing, and panics around technology, by not just doing it for them, but doing it from their machine, not the device belonging to the new member they’re trying to help! So, whether it’s a phone, laptop or tablet, always use their machine, that way, all the cookies that get set when you register will be on the device they’re going to use, and the forum will “recognise” them. (And you can help them by ticking the “remember me” option when logging in to their account. It’s fine to do the actual process for them. But try and talk them through what you’re doing, as you go.
