The Meandering Thoughts of a Fickle Mind & Potential Regret (Anyone Else Like Me?)
Howard replied to Westygav's topic in The Start Line
I was a lot like you, Gav, in my younger days. From 16 onward for about 12 years I had 26 motorbikes - at one point having 4. I just got bored after 6 months. Regret selling most of them, and not keeping them longer to let the relationship blossom. The one I regret most was the Moto Guzzi Mk1 LeMans, not because it was the nicest bike to ride (I had others which were better) but I feel I could have grown into it. It was such a good looking bike, and people still talk about them with reverence. On the subject of buying again, I had a Montesa Cota 250 trials bike which I sold and some years later bought the self same bike back. - Yesterday

The Meandering Thoughts of a Fickle Mind & Potential Regret (Anyone Else Like Me?)
Richard (OldStager) replied to Westygav's topic in The Start Line
You have beaten me by some margin @BigSkyBrad I came to 4 wheels late in life, wasn't until I past my 4 wheeled test when I was 26. So Just 5 ( 6 with Westy but I still have that ) cars and 7 motorbikes and 3 Robins ( depends if you call those cars?) I regret selling one car and just one bike, they were a Volvo 740 Turbo estate and a Honda VF 750 FD. Have been looking at those on for sale adverts and both are quite silly money today. -

BigSkyBrad replied to Westygav's topic in The Start Line
I've had 48 cars in my tIme, and 28 motorbikes, and regret selling all but three of them. The three I don't regret - a Viva HC 1.8 (had the power of the 1.3 and the thirst of the 2.3), and a 1980 Honda Prelude and a 1980's Toyota Cressida, both of which had more bog than steel in their bodies (and I put more bog in to sell them both). -

2024 Speed Series Results
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary replied to Nick Algar - Competition Secretary 's topic in Speed Series / Hill Climbing / Racing
Yes, agreed. There are some aspects which need tweaking. Given your comments I'll spend a bit more time working on what the results were within our current rules as there is some possibility to score in a different way when Competitors are split. Then circulate to SSOT, and Competitors if required. Given that we are running a different system this year, towards the end of the year, I'll be sending round a Questionnaire to ask if Competitors views and what to do for 2025. -
Gen 1 busa engine and 3.14 LSD package
DeanMegaS2000 replied to DeanMegaS2000's topic in Parts for Sale
I was really hoping to sell everything as a package. The diff matched with the engine helps make the whole package more desirable. I bought it off someone who had used it once on track in a Westfield 250, once they'd realised the ratio was all wrong for their application. -

2024 Speed Series Results
Smudge62 replied to Nick Algar - Competition Secretary 's topic in Speed Series / Hill Climbing / Racing
For my 10 pence worth I think the scoring system still needs to be fine tuned, on my entry for Gurston I entered Class 11 - Modified Cars - Specialist Production Cars any capacity and both Mark Claxton & Mark Bishop entered Class 4d - Road Cars - Specialist Production any capacity, it seems a bit unfair that I took points away from both Mark's who were on road tyres while I am running on slicks. -

Sorry I missed you off David, I'll check for others as well, but it will change the scores as I just used those in the WSCC class to score. -
