Anyone any idea where to purchase a boot badge like this? I have tried all avenues including eBay etc but can’t seem to find anything remotely similar apart from a vinyl sticker. Also looking a metal version for the front grill if anyone can steer me in the right direction Many thanks.

Fab , thank you for your help - I will see what I can come up with 👍

Got the nylon bushes from Westfield (before it changed hands tho). Bear in mind they are not plug&play; after pressing them in, they need reamed to the right size for the crush tube to go in without play.
-
Two options for the double bubble then, either move it further forwards on the car ( if room) or make / buy a steering wheel spacer to move the wheel away from the obstruction, this may of course result in perhaps moving the seating position, its all very much subjective to be fair. The size of the one you highlight is not far off what I used to have ( above) , now I suppose for a track car weight is more important than comfort, so what that car uses maybe fine when combined with a full face helmet. In fact in the later days of that small screen I did actually use my old competition helmet, as getting flies in your eyes at 70mph, wasn't fun anymore. Give it a go, you may love it, all I was saying was I have been there and it didn't work for me, the double bubble eventually did after some tweaking, but as I say the UK rains told me to go back to standard.

Westfield widetrack wishbone bushes wanted

I've had the Nylon bushes in a road car, and they can work very well; however, as Richard rightly suggests, they can be unforgiving, so need to be fitted as part of a "matched whole". So in other words, spring rates, dampers - and their settings, even tyres and wheel sizes all make a big difference, and need to work well together. Fit nylon bushes on a hard sprung road car, with little give, stiff damping settings, and low (for a Westfield) 50 profile tyres with very stiff side walls - like Toyo R888R's etc and it will exaggerate the worst of the road surface, for sure. Of course, personal taste plays a huge part here! So while the nylon bushes can give superb road feel, you may not like quite as "talkative" a feedback from the car. -
I was thinking of something like this? So you don’t think that would work that well? I currently have the double bubble aero screen but it sits too close to my hands on the steering wheel if that makes sense ?
-
Agreed, as I have to make my own doors ( due to reasons) , I also fitted Perspex, worst thing I did, in windy weather should the door catch the wind , bang a thousand shards, then you get a very cold winters day, just hit the plastic in the wrong way and crack, you have ruined another window. I now have some proper soft top window plastic ( the flexible kind), so the next time this happens that is getting fitted. Also can I suggest @Bunty, that instead of the cut down screen , you fit aero screens instead, I did exactly the same as you are proposing and it really did very little to prevent both wind and air borne objects from hitting me ( Bees, stones etc) My car such as it was in 2008. yeah ok don't laugh it's better now, lol. In 2011 it went to this And then sick of getting rained on put a screen back on it with full weather gear...
-
I can’t help with mounts but for the screen wouldn’t recommend using Perspex. Perspex is a brand name of acrylic and although tough it is very brittle and shatters into shards. I’d suggest using polycarbonate which has much better impact resistance and won’t shatter when hit by a stone.

Westfield widetrack wishbone bushes wanted
Richard (OldStager) replied to CRAIGR's topic in Parts Wanted
Being the newbie I was back in 2008, I did indeed fit nylon all round, that was until I drove it and found out for a road car it really was over the top. May be fine for smooth track use, but not British B roads. I swapped back to metalastic bushes soon afterwards. I did however keep the polyflex rack mounts as that did tighten the steering up a bit. -

It's confusing, because the bits are available separately, ie crush tub, single nylon top hats can each be bought singly, so "set" is the parts to make one bush, not as you'd normally see it where a set would me a full car set. Be aware that if you have independent suspension, the outer, lower wishbone bush, opposite the rose joint, MUST be kept as a metalastic bush, or the suspension can bind with some geometry settings. (There's a similar issue with live axle cars, too, but I can't remember which trailing arm bushes etc have to remain metalastic) -

Perfect planning and timing, no luck involved at all 😉 -
Wow, well done Dave, impressive driving. I think if you are up against mostly production cars, my guess is you are going to win every event ( barring mechanical failure and / or spin out) . My car before being converted back to road spec was an Autotest car, I was never told of its history but the remaining evidence was over whelming. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Winter finally has loosened its grip and the summer autocross season has started. I moved into the 2000's by finally getting a Go-Pro and here's my first in-car video taken at an autocross event. I'm two races into my season and so far I've chalked up two wins. Next week I go for number 3. The car is feeling great and balanced and all the winter work has paid off. dave https://youtu.be/r6tShuUtcAY

Patchs A.I and the NHS ?.
Richard (OldStager) replied to Richard (OldStager)'s topic in Stuff & Nonsense
Yeah, I don't do the usual social media either, who wants to see someone else's breakfast goodness me, the only thing I do use is YT, which only has my email and false DOB and username. The Patchs thing I may have over reacted to, but as I say until tomorrow I won't know if that is true or not. ETA, funny to see the forum censored an acronym, and replaced it with goodness me, funny that. -
