Where are all the green cars!?

About to put a clamshell 1999 kit SE Narrow Westfield version of BRG back on the road/hill. Live 6 miles from Shelsley!! Quaife LSD, Type 9 Box, Wilwoods, Lucas 1130 Torpedo's, stretched steel Burton Kent with 45's and trackday boots. Yes, roll bar needs sorting! Can anyone help with alloy or stainless rear arch protectors... money waiting. (Not carbon or tupperware carbon lookalike please).
  3. Hi Dave, I appreciate your comments, my rant I feel would be better off staying in the members only domain, or being deleted altogether. It wasn't intended to bash Lancaster but to highlight the frustrations that I was having in trying to deal with them. I wouldn't like to think that my rant might harm relationships between the club and a sponsor so If you or any other admin want to move to a more appropriate area or delete it I'm fine with that. @Nemesis while your rant (tm) is valid and justified, and should be heard. This is the issues specifically related to the Club website and forum. It’s also members only, so the chances of anyone from Lancaster seeing it, are very, very slim, I’m afraid. However, any admin can move it, and the related posts to the Start Line if you like, for maximum exposure…

    Lancaster Insurance

I didn't have any problems and they were super cheap considering I put my westfield in a hedge last November 😪 and it was a total worse off. Not much difference in price to what it was before I had the accident

    Build stands

Set of painted build stands. no longer needed. make me an offer. North Bristol.
  8. Damn shame I will no longer be at loton or castle Coombe. Got rear ended on way back from exeter fuel festival. The guy who hit me said he had been admiring the car as we drove along only to not notice lights going red on m5 j30 roundabout. Insurance job so will take ages.

Box of various bits - donation to WSCC Charity please

Sorry, Dave, for the late reply. Unfortunately, not, just the one in there, I'm afraid.

    Accident repair

Thanks colonel. As the guy who hit me is going through insurance I am worried costs will get bloated. I can fix it myself if that is allowed. Good point about getting chassis and roll bar mounts checked.

    Accident repair

I'd be surprised if it could be repaired so well that the repair was undetectable, so if the insurer will pay, then surely a new rear panel is the way to go, but also as has been said, insist on a repairer who has experience of seven style cars, who can (professionally) check the chassis, and then see. If the repairs can be carried out for £4,000. then I cannot imagine the insurers would dream of writing off a 5 year old Westfield as the value of the car would be far far higher than that!

    Accident repair

I know it’s easy to do and that you’re anxious to get it back on the road, but please slow down, take a deep breath, think logically and do things in order. Get it checked over (the frame specifically) to see if there’s hidden damage (hope not). Once you’ve done that, you can look at alternatives. To my eyes, that bodywork is repairable by a good body shop, and the wheel arch replaceable (put an ad in Parts Wanted) for a lot less than the cost of new.

Just been looking on westfield parts site . If they can actually supply the parts, I recon i need a ns fw wheel arch in black £624, orange rear fw centre £1649, orange fw roll bar covers £268. That assumes they salvage my lights and stone guards. £2500 parts and 3 days labour so I am guessing circa £4000 . Given car is 5 years old do you think they might write it off ?
  14. BRM ( British Racing Motors ) will be giving a display of there replica 1.5 ltr V16 grand prix car . The noise these made when fired up was incredibly loud

    Recent snap of your Westfield

I'd love to say my arms are that big, as the photo does make me look fairly jacked, but it is mostly the distortion!

Passed you both yesterday morning. I was heading South on A1 and you were heading North. Probably just before you got caught in a wee bit of rain near Morpeth.

    Accident repair

Thanks guys lots of useful advice. As its an insurance repair I don't think I can make repairs prior to claims process , so I have got in touch with loton and castle Coombe about pulling out , fingers crossed I get credit notes or refund as over subscribed events

If you haven’t got things hanging from the ceiling, you’re not utilising all the space 😀

Agree with this..also looks like your sides are black so shouldn't be colour match issues and would be far better than repair.. assuming new parts is available
