    Stopping the rain coming in

Other than 'they all do that, sir"... FWIW, on ours, the scuttle is sealed to the tub along the entire perimeter where it sits on the car, the screen is sealed to the top of the scuttle, the pillars are sealed to the screen frame. Been a long time (years) since we drove ours in the rain or with the hood on, but another popular place for water to get in is the side screens. Front edge where they meet the pillars and depending on how well or otherwise they fit, along the bottom edge too.

    Stopping the rain coming in

I’ve been caught in the rain a couple of times and found on the motorway especially water can come through the air vents just at the bottom of the screen and also I get a steady trickle of water on my left leg. Can someone point me to photos or a guide of where I need to seal up to stop this happening? I prefer not to take too much of the car apart to do it. I’ve heard people talk about scuttle sealing but which parts of the scuttle need to be sealed.

Please note that several posts have been hidden as they were about the qualities of SEights in general and not this car for sale, and were therefore off topic and against club policy in adverts in order to help sellers and buyers alike - thank you.

    Recent snap of your Westfield

Totally agree. Also the worst is salt-water mist going on every smallest gap, micro cracks and porosity in paint , in welds and Inside chassis (not galvanized) profiles. I use tectyl outside and Inside profiles but i'm aware that IT is nothing against salt. Water ok, but salt is evil !

Deffo put any seven type car away over winter, your chassis will thank you for it!🤣🫣 I really struggle to see why people use them over winter, you can't use their performance, your chassis and any bare steel parts go really rusty, the roads are way more dangerous in general, takes ages to wash them properly and try and protect them for going on a drive which is cold, wet and not enjoyable 🤷‍♀️

I think they originally stamped it near the gearbox mount so nobody (mot inspectors) could find it 🧐

    That's a beautiful car!
  21. An SEiGHT in BRG. That’s the top of the Westfield tree. I’ve got, possibly, the earliest surviving one, and you’ve got, possibly, the last. We have the bookends. GLWS - a bargain at that price.

Thanks, I will definitely document the rebuild, not sure how quickly I will get it rebuilt though. First need to find space for my track car so I can get the Westy in the garage at home.
  26. Tillett Car Seats

seat fitment into seiw Tillet any help

Thanks for tagging. The B6 seats have M8 thread inserts in the base and bolt from underneath. Most cars have the drivers side on runners and passenger seat fixed. Without runners spacers are needed or the bowl of the seat will touch the floor first. We can supply these. Its easy to fix in later cars with the solid floor. Cars with the alloy floor and steel cross members are a little trickier as the spacing is not quite right for most seats. Even the factory tended to tack weld an M8 bolt to the rear end of the runner so that it would span the spacing. Please message me if any further questions. Regards David B6-Dimensions.pdf
