Rubbish news on the incident @Craigieboy but you're in one piece, so thanks be for that. By chance I saw this advert on ebay recently for 2x (!) chassis and body panels. Absolutely no idea if it or they are of any use but I guess the point is a used/not new chassis might be a way forward? Or perhaps a visit to Siltech? https://ebay.us/m/womLPi

Yesterday the right ajm design carbon bracket borked down. Only 4 rides had been done before i saw the arches slapping the tyre while driving over potholes. I strongly advice not to buy these brackets, very expensive and poorly made. I fixed the bracket with zipties and superglue, it will have to survive one more ride only. 👀 I will then have them fixed professionally (if possible) or replace them with the old trustworty steel ones.

Flat battery this morning meant Team Hall did a quick nose cone off and battery swap. I was impressed when we arrived at the museum that they had reserved our favourite parking spaces on the left under the sign, that's thoughtful of them. Coffee, breakfast butties and relax as we all had a catch up in the cafe at the museum There were lots of Lotus but I personally didn't see one single Caterham, what are they trying to say to the organisers? We went on a lovely run out through the sunny countryside, @Tony H made me laugh when he said how he enjoyed it but hadn't got any clue where he had actually been, that's job satisfaction for me Tony👍 This is the bit where we don't mention ALDI 😁 we arrived at Thornbridge Brewery and it was rather more busy than expected, the Father's Day effect I think. We parked up Ordered the beer and pizza. I had the 0.5% alcohol Green Mountain Hazy Session IPA and it was very good indeed, I am changing my opinion of alcohol free beers, they are actually just like beer. A lot of chat over lunch about next Sunday when we set off on our Lakes and Dales Tour, the excitement is building and everyone is sooooooo looking forward to it. If you visit Bakewell anytime, pop in here it's worth a look A bit different and a really good day out, thanks everyone for coming -
Sorry to hear the news. Hope you get sorted. for some reason I have clicked by mistake two stars by the title and can only change from blue to yellow. Not able to remove. Dont know the relevance so apologies…

Yip, around 7k for new body panels and no idea what a chassis and aluminium panels would be. Still getting ahead of myself though.
-
I also saw a YouTube video of him taking about new engine supply and big announcements in the coming weeks.
-
Nigel Trilk was adamant at Malvern show that they are fully committed to producing 7 and 11 kits, still selling overseas and with a major announcement to be made in the press imminently.

Lovely run out in the sunshine today starting at The Darrington Hotel for breakfast. Paul then led us out into the countryside to the Motorist. They were having a weekend long Le Mans event and the queue in was long so we turned around and went over to the other side of Sherburn and Squires cafe. -
Not mine, but spotted at an “old-timers” event in Ilanz, Switzerland today. A Cosworth engined Donkervoort.

Especially with red. It's affected by sunlight a lot

Good point, colour matching could well be a challenge. Sit down when you’re looking at Westfield replacement bodywork prices!
-
Thanks. That's interesting I was rightly or wrongly under the impression that they weren't producing any Westfields at all. Certainly needs a new chassis, side panel, scuttle panel, wheel arch and rear tub. That's assuming that new red panels would colour match the existing ones.

Afternoon all. I'm getting a DA polisher for my birthday this week - what polishing compound should I use on the Westy please? It's already shiny but there's lots of swirls and few light scratches I'd like to get rid of. Someone recommended Farecla G3 but there's lots of different versions of that. Any info/tips for a novice would be most welcome. Thanks

Day 3 pic of the day. Day 4 Decided to have a relaxing morning and a few drives. Relax and taste some of the local cultures around the pateley bridge area. Mostly ciders and cakes 🤪.We really loved the yorkshire area and the people. I think we enjoyed days 1 to 3 so much we tired ourselves out. A few pics of our chilled out day before our ride home. All the nitty gritty will be in a big write up for the magazine. The friendly cow who I will miss and his mates who I won't as they kept stopping us leave the barn we were staying in. -
Yes maybe interested, what sort of price are you thinking and will you be able to post? I'll PM you. cheers Mark

First run out for about 5 weeks today, after taking some time to recover from surgery. Felt so good to get out, and it was a lovely (fairly) gentle ride out in the sun to get back into the swing of things, stopping for a coffee and just enjoying the freedom again! No discomfort either, so I'm back baby! 😃 -
So sorry to read this, but also relieved to hear you weren't more seriously injured. I hope after day 2 your discomfort settles down and it doesn't affect your holiday plans. Take time to reflect as you say, and don't rush into anything.
-
Siltech do chassis repairs too I believe.
-
Very sorry to read this, but it's a huge relief that you're not more seriously injured! I hope you recover quickly enough to be able to enjoy your holiday still. It's worth contacting Westfield to get a rough idea of parts costs to rebuild if you were to buy the write off, presumably the insurance assessor will have to do similar anyway? Hopefully they can still manufacture chassis since they're selling cars overseas at the moment. Best of luck
