    What the postie brought today!

Very impressive! I’ve been trying to do a brief attempt at an owners/workshop manual for the Midlana. Very difficult to find the motivation tbh. Done about 20 pages so far.
  7. Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO

    Yorkshire area, 2025

Anyone want to meet up tomorrow morning, 2nd November at the Motorist? Have a chat and a coffee if the queue isn't too long. The weather is looking good and it might be one of the last chances to get out this year. I'll be there from 11am.

    Yorkshire meeting, 4th November.

Sorry for the late post, it's the November meeting this coming Tuesday at The Buffers, Rakehill Road, Scholes, LS15 4AL from 7:30ish. Not sure what the weather will be doing, but If you haven't SORNed and it's not raining, come along.

    What the postie brought today!

Thank you Bob. Yes, I copied and pasted every page in it's entirety directly from the forum (including comments) into a Word document, keeping my text in 'black' and changing club member comments to 'blue'. Tbh, it was an extremely tedious and time consuming process, but I wanted to capture everything. The final couple of pages show the emojis of all the contributors 🙂. After formatting to remove spaces between entries and to get suitable margins, I saved the file to 'pdf' (approximately 94 Mb in size) and sent it off to an internet company be printed. The printing cost less than £100, compared to almost £200 in one of the high street 'specialist' shops.

Synthetic Fuels / ICE Engine longevity 🙏

Cheers Andy, really interesting points in that video, and looking forward to see how this develops to affect Joe Public. I remember complaining when buying petrol at £1 a gallon, which is now circa £1.40 to £1.70 a litre, then I expect the synthetic fuel to be expensive until we have local (uk) manufacturers mass producing but this article brings home that it’s getting closer. happy days 🫶🏼🤞🙏👍

    Winter storage

For the wimps out there, like me, who sorn there cars in winter, here’s how I do it. I have a couple of four wheel trolleys and with some strategical placed bits of wood I support the car so I can move it in any direction, to make most use of the limited space in a single garage. The timber supports the chassis and doesn’t allow the suspension to go into full droop. And here it is fully covered with old curtains and thick dust sheets under the Halfords car cover.

    What the postie brought today!

I am deeply impressed - I've been meaning to pull together a photobook of my build, but still not got round to it, three years later...

    What the postie brought today!

A hard copy of my 'build diary' was delivered today - all 636 pages of it...! 😬 The result of many evenings of copying/ pasting and formatting.
  20. This might be something to consider for next spring/ summer for members within easy reach of the Shuttleworth Aircraft Collection in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. The venue is inviting car clubs to have an area to meet up in on the airfield at both event and non-event days. I've been there on a number of occasions for predominantly air shows (including the fantastic 'race day'). It's a fantastic relaxed venue with plenty of vintage aircraft (the majority of which are airworthy), the lovely smell of burnt caster oil, lots of parking and a great cafe. Obviously there's no need to book for just turning up with your Westfield (parking in the general carpark), but if there's enough interest we could make it a little more formal and park closer 'to the action' by pre-booking. Would there be any interest? We are a little under-represented for events in this part (Hertfordshire) of the UK. https://www.shuttleworth.org/
