Tyres for 7's Speed Series
LoneWolf replied to Richard Houlgate's topic in 7s Speed Series Discussion
I'm throwing it here as I don't know if it's permitted by the rules, but did you guys consider switching to 15" wheels? There are LOADS of good tires in that size, from Nankang CRS to the Yoko A052 (which are trash in 13"), Dunlop Direzza DZ03G and others. Are the 15" wheels so much worse than 13" for competition use, even with the much better rubber available? - Yesterday

If it is dry toyo r888r seem popular. Road legal and class 1b for mot road going cars like my westy. My avon zv7 on the other hand are now no longer allowed, bog standard road tyres group 1a for years, i used in the wet and driving to tesco but I have to throw them away now because avon got taken over by nova. Uniroyal rain sport are supposed to be good 1a.

going on with making my track westfield road (almost ) legal ... got headlights and hosings (aliexpress). Unfortunately, due to my own oversight, I ordered two pairs of lamps instead of one pair A few small modifications were needed right away — the screws securing the lamp housing bracket were sticking into the inside of the housing, which made it impossible to fit the insert (the actual lamp). They had to be mounted the other way around, with the rounded heads facing inside the housing and the nuts on the outside. And yeah… they’re kind of big and heavy compared to my previous “lamps,” which I made myself from LED strip, an aluminum tube, and duct tape Ideally, lightweight, smaller Dominator-type LED headlights with built-in sidelights would be best. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any. I did find Dominator-style lights with an LED DRL ring, but without sidelights. Maybe on the next attempt. I spent so much time drilling different elements to reduce weight, and now these bricks sit high and far out front — the worst possible position for ballast… But hey, it will be the same in that area as a brand-new Westfield SE.NA! Tyres for 7's Speed Series
harrypotter replied to Richard Houlgate's topic in 7s Speed Series Discussion
As a matter of interest what are the best tyres for hillclimb road going class this year? Am correct to think that we are able to use list 1b tyres? -
Hi Ian, Re measured 140 - 180 Reference to handling, I believe it handles really well and I have never had any concerns, especially with the new LSD.

Westfield 2.0L Ford Duratec
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO replied to snowy892's topic in Westfields for Sale
Hi @snowy892 where are you measuring from? We normally measure from the bottom of the chassis rails (not the lowered floors if fitted). Mine is 140mm front and 165mm rear. It's normal to have a 20-30mm rake front to rear. It was this pic- that led to my question. Any reason it's this height? How does it handle like this? Sorry to detract from your for sale thread, however setting the car up correctly, should help with the sale.
