If you’re looking at gold ones, JBWs only offer them on 15” wheels. -

I do like the look of Minilites. When I first built my car I fitted 7J x 15 Minilites from Performance Superlite. They are Australian but were stocked in the UK. Looked very nice but Lite they were not! They were astronomically heavy to the point that I'd rather not say because you'll think I'm making it up or misremembering. The OZ Superleggeras I replaced them with (same size) were about half the weight. Other brands of Minilite may be better in that respect so do consider carefully - as you are doing -

Minilites, JBW, Toybox .. your opinions please!
Captain Colonial replied to Rab (bombero) Reid's topic in The Start Line
JBWs: Had them for years, very happy with them, no real need to buy the genuine ones. Mine came with the correct lug nuts as well, which is important. Did have a faff with the front because the wheel studs were too short, nuts only tightening by three turns, so had to get next size up longer ones from Burton Power… which ended being too long! So had to get 5mm spacer plates. -

Over the sea to Skye, Glenelg ferry
Gillinghampaul replied to Craigieboy's topic in Places to Visit and Road Trips
It looks well sorted to be fair, theres lots clearly been done to improve it, he had it a long time too from the looks of it, Im goung through bits and pieces but nothing major, im hoping to do a big strip and build on it in the future too, and my 10 year ols daughter loves going out in it too, And yes that video made me laugh, explains some of the marks on the bonnet that i had no idea how they got there It drove the 10 or so hours home in november without too much worry, so it cant be too bad! -

Love a minilite. Just had mine refurbished. Not genuine, I'm sure they would be extortionately priced. Lots of replicas to choose from. -

What, apart from the time he rolled it?! Kidding obviously! The famous 'goodbye bonnet' video is good isn't it It was always a well maintained car when in Bob's possession. I'm pretty sure he stripped it every winter. -

Following on from my recent post about considering new wheels, I really like the Minilites however, should I go with genuine or consider one of the replicas from the likes of JBW and Toybox. Does anyone have a particulary strong opinion or experience with the different makes? My car is fast road use only. Thanks in advance!

Yup, thats the one, feel free to share any pics, stories or information you have! Ill not be offended by anything...... i have already found a funny bonnet video! Iv put r clips on the latches now too! Its been going well, sorted some wiring on it due to losing 2 cylinders but its a nice car so far, they are kit cars, they always need a little fettling! -

Wow! That’s defo a contestant for next years Calender - front cover? B’eautiful

Have tto say, in all other respects, I absolutely love the wheels, and TBH, it was always a strong likelihood that I'd get them powdercoated a solid colour anyway, I got the highlight version mainly because it was the only common choice for the two sizes I bought.

I’ve never done a trackday in my life but it’s defo something I would be interested in. Are there special requirements for the car? What ppe other than helmet and gloves is required? What cost are we talking for a trackday?
