Dick Mayo Sprint Castle Combe 26th July 2025
djm posted a topic in 7s Speed Series / Hill Climbing / Racing
Is the Dick Mayo Sprint at Castle Combe on Saturday 26th July 2025 still a round of the Speed Series? As Bristol Motor Club who are running the event do not show the Speed Series in the list of championship rounds for the event. -
I bought this as a donor for one of the MX5 based kitcars , quantum,mk,gbs evocet, Tipo184 but a medical problem means I an unable to continue possibly for up to a year so I have had to change my plans. The car is a 1998 (first reg 29/5/98) 1.8 5 speed and has done 36.000 miles (parked up with a starting fault for several yrs . new fuel pump fixed it ) and is a low spec car so no aircon ,abs , electric mirrors so much easier to strip down for kit car use . three keys and matching ecu/immobiliser . A few parts not used in Kitcars have been sold ( lights, trim pieces radio, speakers) there are a set of fox alloys and a space saver tyre included more pictures available V5C in my name showing 2 previous owners Car is in north cardiff £800 or open to offers

I made mine out of this - 1mm carbon fibre sheet Here's my template. check for size in paper first. Carbon fibre roll cage foot cover.pdf Cut with a Dremel and stuck to the fibreglass with 3M VHB Tape. Make sure you put masking tape around the roll bar when test fitting the item as the carbon fibre edges can scratch (don't ask how I know). Make the slit with a fine hack saw blade.

I think there maybe a mofast designed 3d print file on here somewhere.
-
Or maybe it's a good item to be 3D printed?
-
If it's just to tidy up the gap where the bar goes through the tub, would something like this do? https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/high-strength-carbon-fibre-sheet

I see what you mean! Crazy prices for such a small item. I will ask someone I know if they can make some in carbon.

Hi All, Please see info below from Silverstone regarding club pitch location and ticket release information: ''Hi Hope you are well. I have attached a map showing your position for display this year. The maps can be enlarged for you to see the areas more clearly as we have a lot of information to fit in! The blocks on your areas represent vehicles and we allow a little extra space so everyone will fit. Your vehicle passes will arrive in the post and will have directions to tell you which entrance you need to proceed through to reach your display area. Once inside the circuit our team will direct you. Your entry tickets will be available in your Silverstone account two or three days before the event and will 'go live' for the day to help combat fraud. All the best '' -

And it looks like they’ve been working harder on getting negative reviews removed than anything else. Tell me how this averages out to a 4.2 star rating: Answer: It doesn’t. According to my maths, that’s a 2.6 star rating, not 4.2 -
Thanks Howden

Blimey, I don't think I've. Ever seen so many 1 star reviews, with most of them saying they'd leave nil stars but it's not an option! I will be calling Howden next renewal date. -

I think I'm with MarkerStudy via AIB, I'd better investigate this then. -
Got my renewal done as well although a little more than last year still cheaper than the competition, great service by Kacey.
