Hi Peter welcome, I’m sure Martin will be in contact soon. I’ll give him a nudge, he is your local organiser. https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/profile/24743-martin-bell-bellyboy-east-anglia-ao/

Administrator Approval Required For New Trial Club Members

As well you should be - it’s MY job to be the numpty around here!
  4. Ah. I thought trial members had to pay from Day one. Sorry to be a numpty

Administrator Approval Required For New Trial Club Members

Trial Members get 60 days or 50 posts, whichever comes first, to decide cost-free if the club is for them. Without giving away secrets, if an Admin has to approve a new Trial Member’s account before they can post, they can see if their details are either obviously kosher or obviously dodgy. It only takes about 10 seconds to sniff out a wrong ‘un and ban them permanently before they go on a spam spree.
  6. @marcusb Don't get it then. If they aren't paying to be trial club members then how does manual approval of trial club members keep them out? But never mind not important
  7. Took my car to Northampton Motorsport last week for some attention to the cold starts and a map check. Unless the car had been sitting in the garage on only the hottest of days, it would start fine but run a bit lumpy until — I can only guess — the coolant reached around 30°C or so. Easily resolved with a bit of gas or just starting to drive, but I wanted it checked over having previously replaced a duff CHT sensor. Troy spent a morning running it up and down on the dyno, changing some of the ECU (OMEX) base settings and tweaking all the low RPM fuelling maps. As far as I know, it was as out the box by Westfield beforehand. Apparently, it had been configured to look for 9000 RPM, and by reducing it to a more realistic 7500 RPM, it gained a load of “resolution” in the map — fuelling is now more discrete and precise across the RPM range. The idle control values were also set poorly in the ECU and needed doubling to their maximum. Anyway, it now starts and idles great, but I’ll need to wait for it to be truly “cold” to see how it behaves. The dyno work did manage to kill the exhaust bobbin — too hot in low or no airflow — but it’s easy enough to replace. The whole team there were really helpful and deserve the good reputation they get on the forum.
  8. Absolute PITA everywhere so a good move IMO. I saw a long spam post briefly this morning. Just out of interest, are the spammers actually paying for trial membership so they can spam us?
  9. All sorted now- thanks cap'n

Administrator Approval Required For New Trial Club Members

Thanks for clarifying that Peter, that thread is back now. I’ve added an extra day on to your membership period to compensate you for your troubles. 👍
  11. Hello captain, I signed out and back in again as you suggested - It didn't fix it - I posted in the start line last night introducing muself as a new member with a photo, but this has disappeared

I've just searched for a new local member who I believe signed up yesterday, and noticed all the suspect user names. Has there been a spam attack?

I replied to your Support Request. Please log off and log back in again to see if that fixed it.
  15. Oh ok, maybe that's why I can't see my post this morning or respond to anyone because I only joined up last night and now everything is on hold pending approval?
  16. Due to two recent severe spam attacks, new Trial Club Members must be approved by a club Administrator before their forum accounts will be permitted to go live. As the Administrators are all unpaid volunteers who don’t live backstage, this approval may take 48 hours to process. We hope you will understand the club’s desire to prevent the forums being filled with spam posts, which have no useful purpose to the club or it’s members.
