Beautiful example of an original Long Wheel Base 1974 VW GP Beach Buggy (as detailed on the V5) - MOT and Road Tax exempt. Rebuilt and restored from the ground up. Original 1600 engine 1974 chassis. Original speedometer. EMPI gear knob and wheel. New seats. Drives lovely, lots of power! Body sprayed in white metallic with blue metallic stripe. 5. 1 JL Audio Sound system is an absolute highlight with a custom built rear mould housing a sub and two rear speakers, plus 2 front speaker and Bluetooth interface. Sounds incredible. Condition is superb, a few minor imperfections on the body work. Driven in the summer and gets lots of attention! Well maintained by experienced retired mechanic who specialises in classic cars. Comes with lots of history (pictures on a USB stick of the rebuild). Also comes with a towing A frame that attaches to the front of the chassis. Absolute delight and will be missed however it's time to move onto something new and let someone else enjoy driving down the road listening to The Beach Boys! Any questions please ask away. The specification is outstanding and the attention to detail in the restoration is lovely. Every nut and bolt stainless steel. The engine all chrome and looks elegant. Welcome. Ant’s car has resurfaced!! You’ve now joined the best club 😀. I’m in central Lincolnshire which I know is a stretch from Peterborough but welcome to pop up here or join in on trips out. I normally travel to the Peak District as it has been an active group for quite a while and I’ve made life long friends. Off on Sunday on the WSCC lakes and dales trip. As far as servicing etc, I’ve found a good mechanic at Finneys. Just at the end of Coningsby runway. He has made several 7 style cars and knows his stuff. Engine tuning I would recommend AP Racing Engines. General mechanics could be done at GBS in Retford. I’m sure the more local members from the Norfolk group have now found suitable places. Either way, enjoy your ownership and above all get out in it - don’t just park it in a garage!!

After 20+ years of Westfield ownership I finally sold mine last year, whilst I built it, modified and maintained it I did use these guys in Oundle to cary out some engine work (I simply didn’t have the time to spare) on my 2.0 Zetec. That’s quite a detour for you from Devon, I assume you will mostly be doing M5/M6. Marcus and I travel from different parts to get to Nelson, then it will be the A682 up through Gisburn to Long Preston to meet up with Robin, then A65 to Settle, B6479 to Ribblehead, B6255 to Hawes, A684 through Sedburgh to J37 on the M6 then A684 to Kendal. if you really want a taste of “our” roads there are many routes you could choose once you get above Manchester to cut across through the Forest of Bowland to either Nelson, Long Preston or Settle to meet us.

Thanks guys thats very helpful. Slightly dismayed at the change in weather forecast. Looks like 10 degree drop in temperature and (hopefully) light rain from Sunday to Friday!! we will look at Paul’s alternative route. Which junction do you leave the M6 to get on that route? (Coming up from the south!)

Hi Stuart I have the 2.0L Ford Zetec engine (170), I am sure I will be doing some bits on it but probably not on the engine side so much! Even so I have covered about 250 miles in the last couple of days and absolutely love it! Best regards
