I also saw a YouTube video of him taking about new engine supply and big announcements in the coming weeks.

Nigel Trilk was adamant at Malvern show that they are fully committed to producing 7 and 11 kits, still selling oversees and with a major announcement to be made in the press imminently.

Lovely run out in the sunshine today starting at The Darrington Hotel for breakfast. Paul then led us out into the countryside to the Motorist. They were having a weekend long Le Mans event and the queue in was long so we turned around and went over to the other side of Sherburn and Squires cafe. -
Not mine, but spotted at an “old-timers” event in Ilanz, Switzerland today. A Cosworth engined Donkervoort.

Especially with red. It's affected by sunlight a lot

Good point, colour matching could well be a challenge. Sit down when you’re looking at Westfield replacement bodywork prices!
-
Thanks. That's interesting I was rightly or wrongly under the impression that they weren't producing any Westfields at all. Certainly needs a new chassis, side panel, scuttle panel, wheel arch and rear tub. That's assuming that new red panels would colour match the existing ones.

Not always the case.. I recommended them to a non member after an off following me at Cadwell.. Whole new front end.. was done in reasonable time and at a reasonable price.. he was really pleased with the whole job
-
Just don’t be surprised at the long long erm long wait! They are always busy!

Taking up most of the canal though🤔 and you best get a move on!! you need to be home for Sunday 🤣

Afternoon all. I'm getting a DA polisher for my birthday this week - what polishing compound should I use on the Westy please? It's already shiny but there's lots of swirls and few light scratches I'd like to get rid of. Someone recommended Farecla G3 but there's lots of different versions of that. Any info/tips for a novice would be most welcome. Thanks

Day 3 pic of the day. Day 4 Decided to have a relaxing morning and a few drives. Relax and taste some of the local cultures around the pateley bridge area. Mostly ciders and cakes 🤪.We really loved the yorkshire area and the people. I think we enjoyed days 1 to 3 so much we tired ourselves out. A few pics of our chilled out day before our ride home. All the nitty gritty will be in a big write up for the magazine. The friendly cow who I will miss and his mates who I won't as they kept stopping us leave the barn we were staying in. -
Yes maybe interested, what sort of price are you thinking and will you be able to post? I'll PM you. cheers Mark

First run out for about 5 weeks today, after taking some time to recover from surgery. Felt so good to get out, and it was a lovely (fairly) gentle ride out in the sun to get back into the swing of things, stopping for a coffee and just enjoying the freedom again! No discomfort either, so I'm back baby! 😃 -
So sorry to read this, but also relieved to hear you weren't more seriously injured. I hope after day 2 your discomfort settles down and it doesn't affect your holiday plans. Take time to reflect as you say, and don't rush into anything.
-
Siltech do chassis repairs too I believe.
-
Very sorry to read this, but it's a huge relief that you're not more seriously injured! I hope you recover quickly enough to be able to enjoy your holiday still. It's worth contacting Westfield to get a rough idea of parts costs to rebuild if you were to buy the write off, presumably the insurance assessor will have to do similar anyway? Hopefully they can still manufacture chassis since they're selling cars overseas at the moment. Best of luck
-
I also am sorry to hear your woes but seriously go and get checked out. Hopefully it is just superficial bruising but you cannot be too careful. if you had to cancel a holiday it would be a sad company to try to wriggle out if you have a medical reason signed by a Dr. The car may well be written off but can be respired far easier than you good luck

Hi @Craigieboy gutted to read this but you're still upright, albeit in pain. I'd not worry about the cat record it's more about how it's repaired and by who, as long as you detail the repairs with pics and paperwork, most people wouldn't be put off. Just look how @Paul Aspden (MoFast) carried out his chassis replacement and @Si.Dalziel is approaching his rebuild of the S2000 factory demo car. Take your time, explore the options and this great club will be here to assist and advise as and when you're ready. -
Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes, much appreciated. ❤️ I actually feel a bit worse today and it's quite painful moving about and holding on to the walls as I go. They always say the second day is the worst. We are away on holiday next week which gives me time to reflect, but it's in question now and my wife wants me to go to Dr's to have it recorded in the event me need to cancel. I'm not so sure I would want the same car back and under a Cat record, though the main bits engine, box and diff are like new. The lack of new builds either factory or self build is very obvious now. Gladly I don't have any previous experience of this situation and I don't know how things will pan out, other than the car is definitely a write off with a new chassis required. Thank again
