Track day evening - Tuesday 21 April - Donington GP circuit
Burgerbob posted a topic in Parts for Sale
Hi All I'm booked onto this track day evening with Open Track, but as I've now put my car up for sale, I won't be attending. Opentrack will let me cancel the booking and rebook for another track day, but I'm not sure yet if I'll take my new car on the track, hence it makes sense to transfer this booking to someone who will use it. The evening is now sold out but it would have cost £159. For £100 (bank transfer) I'll transfer the booking to you. I just need your car details, full name and email adress. Send me a message if interested. Thanks Rob - Today

Westfield (2005) – Zetec Silvertop – 19,150 miles – Extensive Spares
Burgerbob posted a topic in Westfields for Sale
After six and a half great years of ownership, it’s time for my Westfield to go to a new home. The car was registered in 2005 on an age‑related number plate and was built from all new parts. Power comes from a 1.8 Zetec Silvertop, professionally mapped by Northampton Motorsport to a reliable 160bhp. With a wet weight of just 620kg (with fuel and all fluids), it has what I consider the perfect power‑to‑weight balance for fast road use. This allows you to really enjoy the performance through the MT75 gearbox. The engine note and response are fantastic thanks to the Jenvey throttle bodies, and the car always attracts admiring looks wherever it goes. The previous owner was a race mechanic and set the chassis up to feel properly planted and confidence‑inspiring on the road. The engine has been mapped conservatively for reliability, but Northampton Motorsport have confirmed that around 180bhp should be achievable with further tuning (e.g. cams), without the need for head work. The car has always been well maintained and was recently prepared for summer: • New engine oil • New gearbox oil • New brake fluid • New ignition coil and spark plugs • New radiator with ducting and fresh coolant (fitted last year) • DS2500 brake pads all round (fitted last year) The car sits on Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres and is fitted with a Scholar lowered sump. It drives exactly as it should and is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner. As you’d expect for a 20‑year‑old car, it is not a concours show car, but it presents very well for its age. There are a couple of minor hairline cracks in the fibreglass near the front of the bonnet and around the fuel filler, along with a few other light age‑related marks – all purely cosmetic and reflected in the price. A large selection of spare parts and accessories is included in the sale – far too many to list in the advert itself. A full printed PDF list is attached, covering bodywork, brakes, engine parts, weather gear, spare wheels, touring accessories and more. Photos below. Viewings welcome near Derby. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Price: £9,750 Westfield spares PDF.pdf -

New member with 1993 factory built, looking forward to learning from the experts on the forum. Not warm but starting the spring drives early in Central Finland.

@7Westfield those look very similar to the XI wishbones.

interesting So, mine is the first variation if I interpret the chassis # correctly, it must be fairly early by the info I have, it's 71, laid down in 1985

To be honest that's not a Pre-lit because it is an early Westfield (clone of a Lotus 7) with Ali body. The pre lits that caused the court case with Caterham were the all fibreglass Westfield 7 SE built in the last part of the 80's. Chris Smith built around 800 of these and it was that success and the fact that they were cheaper to buy and build than a Caterham caused Robert Nearn to take out litigation. The red car is my first Pre lit built in 1986 and the other pic shows my current pre lit used for hillclimbs and sprints. Both have all glassfibre bodies and wings

The plot thickens we are now up to 3 variations on mine, the rear leg (both upper and lower) is straight, at roughly 90 degrees to the frame rail assuming the frame tabs are the same, it would seem my car could have a roughly 3 inch shorter wheelbase? Mine is equipped with a xflow, Ford diff, and Spitfire front uprights is there any count of cars so equipped? or how many came to the US? I know of one race shop that was building them over the winter, in order to keep staff busy

THis is a prelit top wishbone sitting on top of a standard track wishbone. I know the curved one is a prelit beacause I've built two pre lits and the curved wishbones came with both. I replaced them with the later wisbone to give better clearance for dampers and to increase track width and to provide better caster

How much of a project? What year, is it registered, what engine, live or independent rear? Iv a friend that wants one after going in mine

If you zoom in you can see the bolt heads on the right hand side of the picture. I'll dig through and see if I have better pictures next time pc's on
-
Yes an early prelit one. It always frustrated me that others had the ball joint that threaded in and adjustments could be made

I think that's a bottom wishbone.

Golden yellow and black is the best these days. But ai did have a fancy for Asbo orange and black previously. Saw a kawasaki green one and that was rather nice

Found this at the back of the garage from when I had the prelit(q511wjr). Any good to anybody? Happy to post. Make me an offer
