I am looking for currently available FW body Westfields. I’m looking for something with a car engine really a Zetec or similar. A heater and wet weather gear is also needed. I’m not looking to spend a fortune, so I’m expecting an early FW.
-
do you sell the tunnel carpet alone? if yes, how much? 😄
-
Nice, only 20 miles from me. Maybe when the weather improves we can go for a spin in the Hertfordshire countryside 😎
-
Thanks for all the advice folks 🙂 No idea on the age of the toyo proxies...my old MX5 had them and not sure I trust them much in the wet so will take it gingerly! I'm actually collecting it from James so will say hello from you guys I'm based in SG12 Ware, will keep an eye out for local meet ups and maybe even a few longer ones. Once I've done 200 odd miles what's a few more 😆

Hi, are these still available? -
Great looking car, and have fun on the drive back. Where abouts in East Herts are you based (I'm in WD6)?
-
That car was owned by James Bailey in Nottingham and was up for sale at £9500 in Feb 25. So you have a good deal.. 👍
-
Welcome from bonny Scotland, it's been said before, you bought the correct colour.....😃

🤣 Very true. Can’t think of any situation where you’ll care less though! -
Sorry not sure what this is called but I’m after one for an ST170/Blacktop. Adapter needs to be M18x1.5 to AN10. Not sure what to Google or where to start looking online. Hoping someone has one or can help. I’m looking to use it to connect my dry sump pressure line to my engine block.

Lovely looking car, sure you will have a lot of fun with that. Take it easy on the way back if it’s very wet; lightweight rear wheel drive cars can be lively! I see it has Toyo Proxy TR-1 tyres on it, any idea how old? Possibly even worth checking the pressures in them as they should not be too high, 18 psi is a good place to start. -
Make sure the heater vent (above your thighs) is open before you start. If you're driving solo make sure the passenger one is closed. You'll get some more airflow up the screen. You only really get heat if the fan is running. Once the engine is up to temp your legs should stay fairly warm. You can help keep your hands warm by holding the steering wheel at the very bottom, the air there is warmer. If you can handle the motion of the droplets, rain-x the screen. The wipers aren't always that good and depending on your height might not be clearing the part of the screen you're actually trying to look through. Heat Holder flying helmet style hats are amazing, other option in bad weather is a decent crash helmet that doesn't steam up if it's wet. As stated above, a little speed keeps you drier. There is no such thing as dry...

Welcome to the club @karan733! Looks like a lovely car you've got yourself there. Remember, there's no such thing as bad weather - just bad clothing choices....! Take your time in the rain and you'll be fine. I find if I can keep above about 50mph then the rain goes over the top of me anyhow, and I don't get toooo wet. Honest officer! Keep us posted, and welcome -

Hi all - thanks for letting me join the club Ever since I first drove a caterham 10 years ago at a palmersport day I've been longing to get my first kit car I'm pleased to say tomorrow is the day (all being well)! Looking forward to, and nervous about, the 3.5hr trip on the train up to Yorkshire to pick it up, and then the 5ish hr drive home to East Herts in the soaking wet - but I guess I'll learn a lot during that first experience... I picked up a 2000 Westfield SE Zetec 1800Q from PistonHeads in this auction - looking forward to chatting with you guys about all things Westie related! https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/auction/19602901?utm_campaign=enews%20bulletin&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Newsletter Send Smart List
