BRDC classic 2026 Silverstone
Martin Aldred - Shows & Events Coordinator replied to Martin Aldred - Shows & Events Coordinator's topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
Great News our application for a Club Display area at the BRDC 2026 has been accepted by Silverstone Events. We have requested a Parade lap and are waiting to see if our request will be approved. This year Silverstone Events have been very specific about the criteria for clubs they are accepting. We have been given a code for you to use to buy Car Club display package tickets. These are not yet on sale so keep an eye on the BRDC web Site. https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/brdc-classic Please be aware that: For this event, the club have to verify every ticket package sold using our club code has been purchased by a club member. Please DO NOT share the code with any non club members as they will be wasting their money. The Club will not validate their purchase. Your ticket is the only way to gain access to the infield with your car which must be a Westfield or seven type. When you buy your ticket, you will be asked for make, model, year, colour, registration number. You will not be able to split tickets and share as has been done in past events. All tickets will be electronic and you will need to download the Silverstone App in order to receive your ticket and show it upon entry to the circuit. More details will be posted along with the Club code in the members section of the Forum. -

Ah, I didn't see that, just the auction ending and the sold price. Did seem cheap, suprsing to me that the market isn't looking to the summer ahead.

Seems like the sale fell through. £10,500 for a Duratec FW bodied car seems very cheap, so guessing it didn’t meet the reserve price -
1960dave started following Aero Screen
-
Have a look in the parts for sale
-
Mine came out the garage yesterday getting closer to completing the engine conversion, hopefully be road ready in the next month or so ready for the summer
-
Would anyone have an aero screen for a narrow body they are looking to part with .?
-
Sold for £10350 + fee (6% + VAT). Seems a pretty good deal.

The first proper drive of the year to the old haunt, Elstree Aerodrome. Now that the engine has had a good heat soak, it appears to be starting up fine. The XI appears to have shrunk in the wash again!

Sorry.. no pics..unless the official photographer got some! Yes car went well

Had a good half day at Snetterton today.. Been suffering with a dodgy shoulder but luckily it didn't stop me driving..will probably regret it later or tomorrow when the pills wear off! Was my first time on track since last July for various reasons. The day wasn't sold out so plenty of free running. I had found it hard to get a good brake pedal despite plenty of bleeding. On track this proved to be the same. I tried bleeding the brakes but no air came out. I was concerned I had nick a seal during the brakes overhaul. After a good coat of looking at I noticed a tiny weep of brake fluid on the chassis below the brake switch..I nipped up the two solid pipe connections into the master cylinder and the two either side of the switch T and went out again and the brakes were great..really pleased. I then did some set up with the springs on the front as I was getting lock up on one side.. but raising one spring half a turn and lowering the other half a turn after two goes got the braking even. The car handled ok and with the slightly stiffer springs I noticed less body roll. I have more work to do refining the ride height and damper settings.. The weather was cold really windy and sunny with rain forecast for mid afternoon.. so I called it a day at lunchtime having had plenty of running and my shoulder telling me it was time to go home! Now need to get my next day booked

Strictly speaking not a 7s Speed Series question but a motorsport one. What 13" tyres (1b) would you recommend to do a 15 minute competitive track session. I am thinking of AR1s. I know they arent so good for sprinting but for prolonged track time may work well Thanks
