    What happened to windys escort?

I see Graham quite regularly , since he's in our part of the World. He is indeed completing a Westfield to his usual very high standard , and has recently acquired a couple of Scimitars , needing a lot of work . Somewhere in the midst of all that is at least one Escort ans a car or two stored for friends . U'll happily pas on greetings from the Forum next time I see him

    What happened to windys escort?

He’s busy rebuilding both a Scimitar and a Westfield at the moment. I'm sure the escort is still there and waiting to be finished.

  8. Ha! That’s the reason I never took it any further. I don’t have a printer but know fellow WSCC guys with them. I could do same, maybe one day. ASA should be ok. I assume you are not intent on painting them? I probably would paint them just for smooth glossy appearance. Good job. You have more perseverance than me! Andy

  10. Prints in the pictures are still in PLA as these were my final test prints to confirm sizing and mounting with 2mm foam around the print. Ive sent the final designs, 4 different vent designs, to get printed in ASA carbon so I'll see how they hold up. "ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a high-performance, UV-resistant, and durable 3D printer filament designed for outdoor, long-term, and high-temperature applications. Often considered a superior alternative to ABS, it resists weathering, chemicals, and fading." Vents are NOT symmetrical, they are a reverse image of each other, look at the top row of hex's in the below image. I also found that the vents on my bonnet/hood where different sizes. I found the passenger side to be 2mm wide and longer than the drivers. I ended up making a number of test prints 1mm larger than the last to get the best fit. This was one of these quick weekend projects Im now 4 weeks into.

    Yorkshire Breakfast Meeting. 15th March

Breakfast meeting next Sunday, 15th at The Darrington Hotel, Darrington, Pontefract, WF8 3BL from 10am. I will be taxed by then so I'll be in my Westfield. If it's not raining.
  13. I was going to do similar a few years back but never did it in the end. 2 questions 1. what material did you choose? I’m just thinking on thermal loading 2. did you find the vent in grp is symmetrical or did you design each one independently? To me they don’t appear symmetrical on the gel coat bonnet

    What happened to windys escort?

His membership expired almost a year ago. I'd like to know as well.
  17. Does anyone know if he got it finished?
  18. First go at painting in preparation for colour change…. Need to tweak the air flow and gun settings as there is a bit too much orange peel and a couple of drips (too much paint and not enough air…)
  19. Couple of Westfield SE•SEi Instruction Manuals for sale, £15 each
  20. nope. By the time I got home it was too late and dark. I think the first opportunity will be Wednesday due to work commitments and that has to be weather dependent. Going away to stay with my Mother on Thursday ready for Mothering Sunday so if Wednesday doesn’t work out, the car will remain filthy till mid next week!! By then the mud etc will have hardened on nicely!
  21. Have you cleaned yours yet after yesterday? I was silly enough to follow J&G’s directions into the overflow carpark yesterday. My car must have weighed twice its usual weight with all the mud attached. Also Ali seems to have done a mud dance before getting into the car..
  22. See @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative , my car is clean sometimes. It is only on trips with you that we are obliged to find all the farmers muck etc to plaster all over the car! Thanks @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for the write up and photos.

Great British Sportscars Cars and Coffee Saturday 7th March.

On the way home the engine decided to shake the thermostat housing bolts loose and leak coolant rapidly. I managed to get to a lay-by and stop in clouds of steam! I contacted the AA, and when the engine had cooled I tightened the housing bolts and checked all the hoses etc. Once Jordan from the AA arrived, we topped the coolant up, bled the system, pressure tested and ran up to temperature etc. All appeared well so we set off, albeit after a 2 hour delay. We didn't go straight home, we went to the services first, and then decided to eat whilst there. We set off for home as the rain started just to end the day on a high note!

Great British Sportscars Cars and Coffee Saturday 7th March.

Some pics from GBS. Good to see Roger and his XI. Dan's Robin Hood with a Vauxhall VX turbo engine. A nice XR3 just behind too. Andrew's very clean V8 Westfield. A variety of cars were present. Roger and his XI. A great turnout for the event. Tim's Westfield and mine with the bonnet off.

Knee support on Sports Turbo Seats

I've found I could really do with having a knee support on my car. Due to the height of my knee it's difficult to keep my foot still on the accelerator on bumpy roads. What have you done to cause the problem ?
