Good grief @DIY-Si , the XI took quite a beating. Yes, if you'd had a passenger, they would certainly have felt something trying to come through the floor! -
I was thinking fluorescent paint for the centre white lines.

I've started work on assessing the damage done to the XI. This was flat: The lowered passenger floor has taken a bit more of a beating than I realised, as it doesn't look too bad from underneath. Lifting the seat pad out gave a different view, as I could fit my hand under the gap. Some how, the chassis has nothing more than a scuff to the powdercoat at the front! There are three rivnuts that spin due to bent bolts, but otherwise the damage is limited to the bolt on undertray and the seat floor. I am rather glad I was flying solo at the time! -

We will be there -
There was a section of road near to me that had led lights installed a few years ago, instead of cats eyes. Quite a winding road with no street lights and out in the countryside, you could drive it at night with your lights off! Having said all that, I don't think they work anymore 😆

My IVA inspector didn't ask for proof of seat strength. It was important to ensure that the belts ran through the slots as close to horizontally as possible by adding packing washers beneath the belt top mountings and by angling the seat backwards.

In case anyone else needs to know, registered November 2006. Nice car. And in the best colour of course, no wonder it's so quick 😂 -

@Nick Algar - Competition Secretary very similar spec to mine. Do you know your gearbox ratios & how do you find the 4.44 diff on the road? -

Seems a good deal to me. What year is it? -
Hopefully they have a nice long tail on them buried deep into the asphalt! I'm amazed that cats eyes are still being used tbh, I'd have expected something new to have been invented by now, testament to the fact that they were a revolutionary invention I guess.

Quickest way is to put a photo up. if they were originally supplied by Westfield, they have the Westfield Sunburst logo cast into them, normally. However, if supplied direct via Hi Spec, or from another Hi Spec dealer, they are plain. (They may also have a slightly different steering arm). -
I know 7 owners have had issue with proving seat strength in the past, but I'm not aware of any XI owners having the same problem. Make of that what you will! I've still got my IVA steering wheel with matching boss and centre pad. My rear number plate holder and lamps are still in the garage, although I snipped the fog and reversing lamps wires short after IVA when I fitted the new undermount lights, so they would need connectors adding. I don't think I have the body mounts any more, but they were simple aluminium strips bent yo suit the car. I'm not convinced my strips would fit anyone else's car..... I'm afraid I've no idea what i did woth my wing mirrors!

In the last few days the roads around my village have been shut for cat eye replacement they may as well have fitted paving blocks the new cat eyes are solid alloy and are 30 mm tall i drove over a couple in the westie and the jolt almost pulled the wheel out of my hands and hit them with the rear wheel and your out of the seat there ridiculous I can't imagine how cyclists and motorcycles are going to manage there's going to be an accident for sure.
