What the postie brought today!
Flying Carrot Steve replied to Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset's topic in The Start Line
Arrived unexpectedly yesterday! Obtained courtesy of a local WSCC WhatsApp group member Rory Jones. He's probably on here too but I don't know his handle. He and some friends did a charity event for the British Heart Foundation. It was a box-kart race in Bristol. This was their 2nd time hence the 'return' bit. It made the Points West news and he very kindly allowed me to buy a shirt! I mean how could I resist right! This will be my shirt for Malvern next year, hopefully it will be 4th time lucky as I've been kiboshed every time so far! 🥺 It would be nice to meet some of the names and faces I now know from this forum! -

Morning, I would say yes and Iam sure someone else will confirm. I also have the later hinge bracket but yours may have the female side of the hinges build it in to the pillars? -
Good morning Benrobson2999. Would you know if my presumption that your 4 year old side screens would fit my 25 year old SE be correct? thats presuming they are still available? with regards John p

Silicone sealant remover?
Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer replied to Benrobson2999 - Kent AO's topic in The Start Line
WD40 works well. If you can get it on a cloth and let it soak for a few minutes, then use a soft plastic scraper of some description (or a thumb nail) it should come off easily enough. -
I've used isopropyl alcohol on mine when I removed the white mastic stuff someone used to glue the vinyl covers that fit over the side as you get in. It took loads of rubbing and scraping with a soft plastic scraper, but got there in the end. Didn't damage the paint either. No idea of it will soften up silicone though???

I have googled this and had mixed reviews and techniques. Any personal experience of what to safely use on the gel coat to remove sealant under the windscreen on the scuttle panel?
