  1. Today
  2. Steve, Your not far away so come to Gurston hill climb next weekend, there will be a variety of Westfields there and also the MSA scrutineers who are very helpful. Dave
  3. Yes definitely. I'm in Dorset and have already had a look through on here and seen there is a Dorset monthly meet so will definitely go along as soon as I can!
  4. Just read the bit about a cage can be fitted as long as it doesn't pick up suspension mounting points. Perhaps I need to keep a look out for a better roll hoop. Thanks.
  5. Haha plenty of expletives prepared and ready to deploy. And I don't have to worry about the missus, seeing as I'm the one with the car and the husband is the one that's got to put up with it / me 😉 😄 Thankfully he's happy to do so (and is building me a car port currently to store it haha)
  6. Yes you can still enter as road going if you have a full cage, it's just extra safety and as to your harnesses it would be to big a job to get the extra bosses welded into the chassis box section.
  7. I started reading the regs and remember why I thought to ask on here first ! I wasn't sure a Westfield actually classed as a standard road car but they fit in the Road Cars - Specialist Production Cars category. Thanks for the link to the regs I will have a read. A friend sent a link saying there were some spaces available at Gurston Driving school and it got me thinking.
  8. Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO

    PX55 BWW - 2.0 duratec Sei - regrettable sale £11950 offers considered

Good luck with the sale. I've travelled with this car extensively in the UK and overseas. It's totally reliable and was fastidiously maintained by @Greenstreak-Andy D . You can see it here in the Alps in 2019-
  9. Hi Nick, thank for explaining. The bar I have has got a diagonal bar fitted but I don't know what sort of spec it is. The belts I have look like a 4 point harness but have a single top fixing. The chassis I have was made like this so I would have to fit extra mounts to fi a proper 4 point harness. If I fitted a better cage, say a current caged one would the car still be classed as a road car ?

    Sylva Striker

Selling my Sylva Striker 1.4 rover k series £5k ono if anyone is intrested. Details on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/share/1E5ux6qSMg/ Regards Matty
  11. I have to sell my Westie…… difficult decision but it needs a new home, life changing events mean I can’t keep it, loosing my garage and moving house. Anybody who has gone through a difficult divorce will understand. she is a beauty and a credit to the previous owner (Andy) as she drives, stops goes round the wiggly bits in the road without missing a beat. i have put her up on eBay for £11,950 but will take less if she is to go to a club member and a good home. full set of spare wheels and full set of new pilot sports to go with the car http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202504061027259?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios-app

    Road going Hillclimb Requirements.

Hi Steve, It should be quite straightforward, you do not need a roll cage in roadgoing class, a braced Roll Hoop is required from a safety point of view. Similarly you could compete with a 3 point harness, but a 4 point is generally considered safer and also allows better control of the car as you are firmly held in your seat. Peak District Run Out, Easter Sun 20th April, 10am Quacker's

Say hey, good lookin' - what ya got cookin'? Well it might be a Westfield and not a hot rod FORD but it sounds good. (Younger generation please google Hank Williams).Vicki @Steve Bosworth. We met at Quacker's cafe, it was freeeeezing and a bit cloudy but we were all glad to be out on a dry forecast. Car park. Jake, our photographer for the day, was taking some snazzy shots too. Inside Quacker's Cafe, nice and warm despite me suggesting we sit outside and Glen suggesting we didn't 😆 It's not the first time today we were all thanking Glen. Next we went on the run out, a route devised by Glen and what a cracker it was, thank you for the second time today, Glen 😍. A slight delay to the set off as Glynn had to change his shoes (not the stilleto's, that's this evening's club😮). Paul and Margaret were coming on the run and then disappearing early to get ready for a few months in Europe in the van, see you in June! We were booked in for lunch at The Bike and Boot, Hope Valley. A new build hotel for activity breaks and very welcoming to car clubs. Bike and Boot car park The menu is amazing, Glen had paella, not our usual kind of food Inside Bike and Boot We needed dessert after that so off we went to The Pavillion at Baslow and were greeted by the usual selection of sicklyness We sat outside and enjoyed our cakes in the warm sunshine We sit overlooking our beautiful cars. A man with a massive camera came over and asked if we raced them, we replied, 'No officer' 😁 The Pavillion Cafe overlooking the sports field and car park A brilliant day out, a good laugh, surprisingly quiet roads and establishments. Thanks for keeping the convoy together with all your excellent driving, it makes my life easier. Thank you to Glynn for guarding the rear of the convoy, also giving me peace of mind that everyone is looked after. See you all next time.

    Yorkshire Breakfast meeting, 20th April.

This bolt for the banjo was loose letting fuel onto the distributor. Could have been nasty.
  16. Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO

    Recent snap of your Westfield

It's a regular stop for us after visiting grandchildren! The trike pictured was longer and wider than the Westfield, probably a similar weight, but a hell of a lot more powerful!!

    Recent snap of your Westfield

Not been there for years, some lovely bikes used to frequent that diner. We saw, fleetingly, a big old trike this morning pulling what appeared to be a trailer tent/caravan.. massive it was!

    Recent snap of your Westfield

A lunch stop at The Long Itch Diner. The trike came along and parked next to us. It's powered by a 4.2 litre Audi V8!!!!!!
  24. Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO

    Yorkshire Breakfast meeting, 20th April.

Good turnout this morning with 6 cars, plus a motorbike and 2 real cars. Sorry, but I was one of those as I appear to have had a little fire under the bonnet!
  25. I've done a bit of karting in the past, mainly doing historic demos. I have always like the idea of doing Sprints and Hillclimbs as you are the only car on track. I understand I could enter my Westfield in the road going class but wondered what sort of cage would be required if any other than the standard Westfield roll hoop and would I need to fit 4 point harnesses rather then the 3 points it currently has. Although a standard road car with a roof doesn't require either I seem to remember reading something about open top kit cars but not sure where. Is this a thing or did I imagine it ?
  26. Stuart

    Recent snap of your Westfield

Finally got myself a good sized double garage for the convertibles 😊. Anyone want a tea chest FoC?
