40th Anniversary, Drive It Day, Peak District, 26th April

A grand day indeed with some cracking weather, the usual great company and @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative worked her usual good magic to find mainly quiet roads! @Tony H and his son Cameron, in Tony's lovely red Mev. @Louie Luay, winked at me all the way to breakfast I'm glad I didn't leave home with a clean car and we got plenty of fresh 'produce' from this lot! @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative trying her best to fit everyone in! It's great being at the back as you get to see all colours of member's cars as far as the eye can see! We also get a point for diversity and inclusion as we let the Transpeak coach join in too! A great day for Alfresco dining. We line all our cars up for a nice pic and some 'influencer' wants a pic for her Insta! @Tony H wishing he's ordered Scampi! Our route, round the peaks.

    Blyton 26th April

Had a fantastic day at Blyton yesterday..loads of cars of all sorts but as always marshals and organisation was great really good on getting the blue flags out plus plenty of black flags for drivers who were not being sensible... Car ran really well and the new Spax dampers and slightly uprated springs really helped the car stop rolling so much.. got a bit of temperature into the Kumho caravan tyres and they behaved well.. Since my last visit in 2024 Ginetta have invested in some new buildings including great new toilet and shower block to make this a really fun place to go.

Here’s my SE, competing in the British autotest championship at Shelsley Walsh on Saturday. 200 mile drive down, a day skidding around and a 200mile faultless drive home

I collected the XI from 'Classic Collective Bicester' yesterday, and Simeon showed me around some lovely cars in their workshop. It was an enjoyable 80 mile meandering drive back home.

Sunday 26th April, Drive it Day, CCW Cars & Coffee Event

An eventful day starting early with a kamikaze pigeon trying to remove a cycle wing. You may have to zoom in to see the white dusty outline of the impact. Parked next to the rubbish pile just out of shot on the left of the cars. Steve and David chatting over David's car. Steve's car after some after some other visitors had photo's taken in and around it. As we got ready to leave we spotted Fuzz Townsend around the cars and buses! The easy run to Revs became a nightmare as we tried to skirt around Stratford only to find road closures for a half-marathon. This forced the increased vehicle numbers through the town centre. We got separated from Steve in the very heavy traffic and ended going different directions to the destination. Tony and Angela were waiting for us at Revs together with masses of motorcycles. NB the photos were done after the bikes had gone. The journey home was fine to begin with as we set off along the Fosse and onto the A429. The first leave the convoy were Tony and Angela peeling off for home. Shortly afterwards Steve also headed for home, leaving us to continue past the Falcon at Hatton on our way home. Unfortunately, as we passed Coleshill the alternator gave up again. It seems like I'm averaging 200 mile per alternator!!!

40th Anniversary, Drive It Day, Peak District, 26th April

And a Good Morning to you too Our car Inside Cupola Inside Cupola Breakfast at Cupola Parked at Cupola, just missing Martin in the line up, who was unfortunately stuck in traffic, making 14 cars. After meeting at Cupola, where the owner had saved us a designated parking spot, off we went on the quiet roads far away from the tourist hotspots. We were having lots of fun and doing great all the way, even could see that we were up for a clear run up the Crowdecote road, licking my lips, getting excited and p**f! a flippin' campervan had just pulled out from a little side road ahead, so we had a slow but scenic ride up. It soon turned off and we were back in action on the little used road behind Hartington, then the last mile we followed an enormous tractor run with zero chance of overtaking. We arrived at the Jug and Glass in a very relaxed state, Luay, @Louie checked his fuel gauge. Dave and Ian gathered around a cardboard box We do some weird things don't we . Here we are all parked up. Oh then it was surprise time, Chris had finally bought a Morgan after carefully taking his time to find the right one and he pulled into the car park with a MASSIVE grin on his face. Well done Chris, living life and making it happen, some people take the easy route and just give in and don't bother. One very happy man and we were absolutley delighted to see him and his car Next was lunch because we were hungry after all that breakfast!! It was no hardship to sit outside and we thanked the staff for their excellent food and service. We will be returning here as it was great and we were made very welcome. Jug and Glass car park Lunch at the Jug and Glass, cheeky monkey @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO After lunch Lee decided it was time to change his clutch cable with the help of Glynn, you might recognise Glynn, he's the one that seems to spend a lot of time bent over It was glorious weather and we needed cake, with Hulme End Tea Junction only a few miles down the road we decided to carry on. On arrival Lee checked his car out and all was good. Parked at Hulme End @AndrewBClarke took position of @Andy Westwood and got the largest jam and cream scone We enjoyed the sunshine for a while longer before heading home A fantastic day out so thank you to everyone for joining us. Next weekend is Dave's visit to the Vulcan Bomber and photoshoot on Bank Holiday Monday, don't miss it!! I am working 6-10am and can't make it so if you can then you must, you won't regret it. If you have enjoyed your day out or just enjoyed reading this and you like the club, I am sorry to remind you that it only exsits WITH a committee. Chair and Secretary positions are available and we can't function without them being filled, think about that. Seriousness over with, back to being daft, bottoms up everyone, love you all and see you next time XXX

    SEiW injection fuel tank

Would anyone happen to have an injection suitable fuel tank for an SEiW? I currently have an older carb type tank with an external swirl pot, lift pump and high pressure pump. I'm looking to simplify my set up with a fuel tank with a built-in sump. Thanks, Gary.

40th Anniversary, Drive It Day, Peak District, 26th April

Great photos, Mark, thanks! I didn’t realise you were still on Oulton Park damper settings when we were haring over some rough Peak District roads till Andy told me over the intercom quite what an impressive display of sparks you were making! Oops, sorry, I did back off a bit, as soon as he told me.

    Half Hood for MSA rollbar

I have one for sale. I got it from Softbits maybe 3 years ago and other than a test fit, I’ve never used it (as only used the car on sunny days). It is Westfield branded and comes in its carry bag. I recall it being about £425, so am asking £225, plus delivery by Parcel Force if required. I’m Dorset based.

Westfield Sports Car Club – Committee Nominations (2026/2027)

Westfield Sports Car Club – Committee Nominations (2026/2027) Thread: We are now actively seeking nominations for the 2026/2027 Club Committee, and this is an important opportunity for members to step forward and help shape the future direction of the club. If you feel you can offer your time, leadership, and enthusiasm to support the continued success of the club, now is the time to get involved. The following key roles will soon become vacant: * Club Chair Chairman role.pdf * Club Secretary Secretary: Responsible for the administrative side of the Club, ensuring that the Club acts within its constitution, and that general meetings and Committee meetings are properly recorded. In addition, our current Sponsorship & Liaison Officer has given notice that this will be his final year in the role. Over the coming months, we hope to introduce a “buddy-up” arrangement, allowing a new volunteer to work alongside him, gain valuable experience, and build relationships with our existing sponsors and advertisers. These roles are vital to the ongoing strength and growth of the club, and fresh ideas and energy are always welcome. If you are interested in putting yourself forward or would like to learn more about any of these positions, please get in touch. Let’s continue to move the club forward together. Thank you!
