Maybe you could buy this Kies heated jacket and liner gloves so you can come out when it’s colder?? It won’t protect your hair do but will keep your fingers warm. 😂

I’d rather be a softie than a chunky 🤪 Can’t remember seeing you out and about when it’s cold!! Definitely not in these photos!!

Why are Jap Bars Called That?
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO replied to dvd8n's topic in Stuff & Nonsense
Aley bars were quite popular saloon cars in the late sixties/early seventies, just a hoop and a single rear brace, just bolted to the floor and rear parcel shelf, made from 32mm tube, really it was just a token effort before full cages that were welded in and added to the structural strength of the shell. I had one in my mk1 cortina. -
W Shep started following Keis Heated Gloves. SOLD! , Keis Heated Waistcoat. and Keis Heated INNER Gloves
-
Keis Heated Waistcoat, marked up as XL?? but obviously not the case so I've placed a tape measure on for correct sizing. In perfect working order, complete with three setting heat controller and cables. No rips or tears, from non pet or smoking household. £95 posted to uk (approx rrp £180) I have advertised Keis heated gloves that could also be connected to this waistcoat if purchased together.
-
Keis Heated INNER Gloves in very good condition. Size Small although they do fit me, (size 9) and need ideally to be a close fit. Come complete with Two cables, one "y" cable to fit through your jacket sleeves (like you had when you were a kid) and a second fused cable to connect to a power source. £45 posted to uk. (rrp £80) (also advertised elsewhere)

Peak District Run Out, Sun 9 Nov, Cupola
Flying Carrot Steve replied to Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative 's topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
There is something quite magical about driving a Westie in the fog. As long as it's not too bad, it's quite exciting. Some of my most memorable kit car moments have been in the fog, like the time at about 5.30am on the A46 heading towards Stroud, when I was the only car on the road for miles around and I suddenly heard this thuck, thuck, thuck sound. Ah bum, flat tyre I thought, but no vibration? Looked up to my right and a low flying Chinook had spotted me, he changed course and came straight towards me and buzzed me! I could literally see guys in the windows waving! I lost the plot and started waving and screaming like some loony! It was a true 'special moment' of my kit car life, I felt like I was in Top Gun or some such film. I will never ever forget that blat! I wish I'd had a 360° camera that I can tell you, what a video that would have made! -

Did some digging. There may be some mileage in this although it is a stretch.... .... but it seems a bit of a coincidence that JAP bars (from what I've seen) are usually spelt with capitals. Could it be something to do with John Aley? JA Products maybe? It's as good an answer as any I reckon.

Been telling people for at least a decade, they never listen. The danger is real, many experts agree...... (I've highlighted my favourite bits in bold 😂) The recent high-profile warning that artificial intelligence could lead to human extinction came from a short, stark statement published by the Center for AI Safety (CAIS) in May 2023. The statement, signed by dozens of top experts and tech leaders, including the CEOs of OpenAI (Sam Altman), Google DeepMind (Demis Hassabis), and Anthropic (Dario Amodei), read: "Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war". More recently, the controversial "AI 2027" paper and a new book by AI researchers Eliezer Yudkowsky and Nate Soares, titled If Anyone Builds It Everyone Dies: Why Superhuman AI Would Kill Us All (published in September 2025 in search results, implying a very recent release), have reiterated this extreme risk. Yudkowsky has notably stated, "I think we're not ready, I think we don't know what we're doing, and I think we're all going to die". (Lovely 😂) These warnings are part of an ongoing debate about the potential for future AI systems to surpass human intelligence and pursue goals that are misaligned with human values, a scenario known as an existential risk from artificial general intelligence (AGI) or artificial superintelligence (ASI).

Funny enough that was my immediate thought.
