... unless you happen to be VERY large that is 😉

I asked ChatGPT for an image of my car with a full FIA roll cage fitted. Not sure it got this quite right! 🤣
- Today

It has.

and it looks like your hair has been blow dried!

I've got lovely hands.

I am glad he is up and running Al... that is definitely a mess and would explain the oil everywhere.. I wouldn't know what went first however the damage on the piston looks more like fragment damage rather than detonation? Hopefully I will be back on track end of September..it has been me taking time to mend rather than the car!

A word of warning from me I wouldn’t recommend asking for a picture of a gender swap version of yourself… ime shocked 🤣

Hi Rednop1, I am interested in these arches if still for sale. Are you able to post pictures of the condition? Are they the extra wide ones or standard width? Any additional info would be welcome. Also would you be happy to post? kind regards Rob

“Classic Flying Carrot, first you’re handing out rosettes, next you’re plotting world domination. We’ll keep an eye on you at the next WSCC meet… just in case the buffet goes missing!” 🥕😅. AI response 😂😂

I'm no expert but personally I would not risk that. Mine is a 2.0 blacktop Zetec but running the same boost. I have armoured con rods, ARP rod bolts, forged pistons, heavy duty big end and main bearings and heavy duty valve springs. Also ARP flywheel bolts. Different engine I know, but I'd still be cautious.

I thought I’d posted this after our track day at Donington on 2nd July. My car ran faultlessly and was great fun throughout the afternoon and evening sessions. Sadly, @Mole’s day was cut short by a cracked chassis, which meant we couldn’t all get out on track together. My friend didn’t have the best of luck either — while I was following him down the Wheatcroft Straight, his car decided to empty all of its engine oil onto the circuit! Second-hand engine sourced and now back in the car. Good job they are nice and cheap! The old setup was running 1 bar of boost on a standard bottom end, with the exception of MaXpeeding rods. The new engine is completely standard — my mate reckons that should still be fine for 1 bar of boost? I’m not so sure after looking at the photos above! 🤦♂️ Question for those more knowledgeable (I’m keen to learn): 1) Detonation / pre-ignition? 2) Piston ring gaps too tight? 3) IATs too high? 4) Something else?

I wonder if the electric companies are struggling generally because of the teleswitch switch off. it does seem to have overwhelmed EDF.

Well i was hoping for a bit of hope 🤣 guess I came to the wrong forum 🤣🤣🤣 its the 8 legged sea creature i'm with. A "known issue" scares me as it just sounds like nothings been done to sort. I've read of this type of thing all been caused due to the metre clock been half an hour out 😱😱😱 scarey to think I may never of known had I not bought an ev. Another sore point is I spend more time turning things off and looking for the right screen than driving. But hey thats just the way its gone. We arent trusted to think while we drive. Give me back switches and dials. But the bonus being It just makes getting in an analogue westy even better. Clense the sole of the ev 💩

Thanks, I have found plastic ones for sale but really wanted a original steel gearbox part.

In the Southwest (SWEB) old school meters were changed every 8 years and calibrated at the Newton Abbot calibration centre. It was a legal requirement then, how things have changed!
-
My next door neighbour had solar panels installed at his GP surgery to charge his EV. It needs a three-phase supply and meter, which 6 months on hasn’t even come close to starting to be installed. Yes, EDF is the hold-up. 🤦♂️

If you can get 3D printing done there's a file on here.
