Those were the days...

I recall, as a kid, going on holiday with my Grandparents, and during the trip Grandad needed fuel, my Gran was really shocked at the prices in Cornwall - 50p a gallon, she was so angry, lol... it was her topic of conversation for a whole week... -
Wowblaauw started following Duratec Oil Take Off Plate
-
I’ll take it pal. I can pop up during the week to collect if that’s ok with you? Or I’m at the kit car show tomorrow? Let me know, thanks
-
I have for Sale a Duratec 2.0/2.3/2.5 Oil take off plate from DanST for running a remote oil filter. I planned on using this but decided to do my oil system differently, hence the sale and it not being used. Everything is as it comes from DanST apart from the Hosetails are now 1/2” BSP to AN-8 fittings. Please see advert from DanSt for any more info; https://danstengineering.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1391 £75 collection from Penistone, Barnsley or can post at extra cost.

Hi Paul. No it doesn't have a lowered floor. I'm 6ft and hasn't been a problem for me Regards Eddie
-
I had resin done about 5 years ago. It was not done properly and has cracks in it (concrete base with holes drilled, no rafts). Luckily I paid on credit card and got my money back £11k. Whatever you decide to do pay at least £100 on a credit card. You are protected for the lot. It’s a real minefield but I’d use someone off of checkatrade, as you have additional safeguards. Best of luck!

I can remember filling my Lambretta with petrol at 6s 8d (33p) per gallon & I think that included the 2-stroke oil as well....
-
I remember when I got my first car, a Cortina MK2, I went to the petrol station and said "fill it up or a pounds worth whichever comes first" now filling up my Volvo when the lights come on it is almost £100.

Our house was built with a tarmac drive and it is now around 30 years old and starting to show its age but like you I prefer the look of them to alternatives. A relation does this sort of work and if you are having one done he says you must have a good depth of MOT 1 ballast then a membrane to stop the weeds coming through then more ballast all well rolled followed by the tarmac. Make sure you have good edging as well other wise it can move when it is hot, but clearly it will not be subject to heavy traffic. And finally choosing your contractor is key, if they only have a mobile number be wary as they might not be permanent residents. Try to get recommendations from people who have had it done. The downside for me of Tarmac is we get a lot of moss growth as it seems to like sitting on the surface and if I need to jack anything up on it you have to use a plate for the jack and stands to sit on otherwise you might get little indentations afterwards which helps the moss.

Hi Eddie this car looks terrific, am looking for a car for a taller driver doe this car have lowered floors? Thanks and regards Paul

TableLeg started following Tarmac driveway resurfacing.....
-
I have been looking into the options for resurfacing my driveway. It is currently gravel but I'm looking at changing to something smoother. I have looked at Resin type surfaces but these are expensive compared to tarmac surfacing which I happen to prefer (when done properly). I've looked at block paving but again this is expensive by comparison. My garage is right at the back of the property so the narrow driveway runs right alongside the house from the road so is quite long and owing to my kids and partners we often have 4 cars out the front so the front of the house is also graveled and joined to the driveway. Has anybody got any experience of having a driveway resurfaced with tarmac?

…which is what I did in 2019, putting a huge cross across the whole thing and writing “No Suitable Party Or Candidate” at the bottom. First time ever and I wasn’t happy about doing so, but at least I made an effort to have my say at the ballot box. -
Running slooooooow again…

Thanks, I took a load more today whilst in the driveway and when I came in later in the evening, all the pics were online already, as I said it must have been some backlog or sync issue , but I haven't changed anything either on the iCloud thing or the phone. It just works now - most odd. - Yesterday

I usually start by clearing the cache of apps that aren't working correctly. The "gallery" on a phone is just an app that gives access to storage and back-up. Try clearing the cache and then open the gallery and tap "back up now" or whatever the iPhone equivalent is. -

And I just remembered, the option to show contempt for the politicos alrady exists. Spoil your ballot. The number of spoiled ballots is actually read out and logged/registered. https://votingcounts.org.uk/spoilt-ballot -
