Just a personal choice, I like a SLB with a high purity lead electrodes. Never had a problem with them.

@dvd8n AFAIK they are intended to be a lower cost alternative to the TE Deutsch series, which I think makes them ideal for our cars. They are totally interchangeable and compatible with each other, and I can't see any difference in quality between these and the few Deutsch ones I've had before. Solid contacts are pricey but really nice to use. There are open barrel terminals available as well though. Take pretty much any DT/DTM part number and swap the first two characters to AT to find the Amphenol equivalent. -
Flying Carrot Steve started following LiFePO batteries..
-
Any particular reason? I have a JWM one in my Carrot, it's been brilliant so far, arguably the best battery I've ever had in any of my kits. Perhaps need a full season to assess fully but atm it looks like an excellent move. Absolutely flies the engine round and starts more easily than it ever has before!

Either are good, but make sure you're not buying cheap copies. No problem buying from Mouser. -
I wouldn't use one myself, but understand why some do if chasing weight saving.

DamperMan started following LiFePO batteries..

I was thinking of replacing the massive but fairly limited leisure battery in my campervan for a Lithium ion battery.. But the more I looked into it the more complex it became… currently the leisure charged off the alternator when the engine runs.. also from the solar. Also a Zigg 12 10a supply from mains when in site… But it appears all of these are bad news and I’d need to use a DC - DC charger, and a load more complication.. Yet we fit them as a direct replacement as a battery on our cars and allow them to charge of a 45a alternator..

Hi I’m based in Stamford, happy to go for a drive, I go to a couple of cars and coffee events around the area as well as a drive at random. like @AndrewBClarke had already has highlighted the peak district meet is great day out, I do attend at least one or two a year, and meet with Andrew on route (depending on meeting point). happy to go for a local drive or if people around the area are interested to do a group meet drive. -

I travelled up from Hampshire for this. Did 908 miles in total. Fault free and my Westy is 25 years old. Loved every bit of it despite some rain. What a car! What a club!! -

A great big thank you to Marcus Barlow, our Events manager for giving us this tour, here it is from our seat. Thank you for the hats in the best colour! We travelled up the M6 with @AndrewBClarke, @neptune and @Stuart, making our way to the Lakeland Motor Museum for lunch by the river whilst watching the steam train, fantastic start. Lakeland Motor Museum It's cafe by the river, overlooking the cars and steam trains Next we drove along the shores of Lake Windermere to ride on the ferry and experience the Lakes close up After the torrential downpour we were glad to park our cars in the heated underground car park at Travelodge Kendal, what a luxury. I am hoping others will post their experience on here and will include a photo of approx 20 Westfield's tucked up for the night. We went into Kendal town to eat with the 3 Andy's and others The puddings flowed and the frivolities started Next morning we all gathered for the Tour Talk from Marcus Then it was time to set off, excited!! Thanks @Glynn Walters for the photo At The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale It is in a lovely situation Next stop for us was the Honister Slate Mine cafe, here is the Honister Pass And here is us parked up Glenridding, a little mountain village next Time for ice creams Then we went a walk, follow me, puff it's uphill all the way to the top! To Lanty's Tarn For views over Ullswater Glenridding The second day was the Dales tour, over Buttertubs Pass and to the beautiful Simonstone Hall with it's amazing views, stopping for drinks The walk at Malham was cancelled due to rain so we went to Ribblehead Viaduct and sat it out in the Station Inn Our journey home with Andrew was to get down the M6 and pick up the Peak District, getting to the Cupola cafe before separating A fantastic trip, even if I didn't quite have a clue which National Park I was in each day, does it matter? they are all beautiful. Thanks to everyone for making it the awesome trip that it was, now let's have a little pray that Marcus treats us to the same next year XXXXXXXXXXXX- 119 replies
