Not sure if it’s been realised, but by editing the first post, re the event cancellation, rather than adding a new one, this thread doesn’t show up as changed for those that browse the forum using the recent changes function, and is really easily missed.

It helps a lot if you search a particular forum rather than the whole site. For example, if you go into Tech Talk first, then enter "tyres" in the search box, you get 278 pages of hits. So then you need to make your search more specific by putting more key words like a size or manufacturer. It's part of the reason the club specifies that technical questions are to be kept in Tech Talk, in order to aid faster searches.

Oh, now that's interesting as I haven't yet seen any reference to the next magazine issue . Lucky I managed to get the XI started when Piers came down to visit, the sun was shining and we found some nice scenery for some photos. Can't wait to see the article .

This is the typical fodder for the workshop .. TVR Cerbera with faulty MBE 941 ecu - now changed to Emerald K6plus . I never get tired of working on Cerberas ... The track day westy is next on the ramp for a bit of a fettle prior to sending it off for some intake fabrication work on the turbo install.

No, I'll take a look, thank you but that won't be relevant for my setup. In my case, Megajolt immediately cuts the ignition once the key is turned, so the dieseling is caused by a small quantity of fuel flowing from the Weber carb due to the higher idle, the hot combustion chambers and air from the leak.

@Morris have you seen this thread about using a diode to stop engine run-on after switching off ignition?

There were a couple of factors, one being the fuel had 'gone off'. Even though I use 5% ethanol fuel, its life is no more than two months, so it had degraded over the winter months. Also the plugs I was using weren't ideally matched to the Megajolt ignition (it needs a resistive type). The engine sounds more punchy (and louder) at higher revs and it starts well, but I suspect there is still a vacuum leak that has destabilised and raised the idle speed, resulting in some dieseling of the engine once I switch off the ignition. General driving is great, but I still need to address the vac leak. I suspect its air finding its way along the threads of the vacuum ports I screwed into the inlet manifold. The garage also fixed a rear axle oil leak that was causing me grief. There was a little damage to the sealing surface with the lip seal that they've repaired. They also had a good look over the car, tightened a few worm clips, replaced a section of fuel house and tightened the fan belt.

As title manifold wanted for zzr1200 or 1100 might also consider somethinh similar that will convert.

As per the title, these are protech dampers in good condition, there are a couple of marks on them but they still work well! I'm not entirely sure on the spring rates which is the only reason for me changing. I image they will be the westfield supplied spring rates though! That’s right. - deleting was an option years ago, but it was rapidly turned off in favour of hide, after a couple of issues where members accidentally deleted entire threads, as well as individual posts, and then the poor web master also kept getting asked to restore them from back ups. With hide, if you accidentally hide something, then realise it was the wrong post, you can un-hide it without needing any outside help. Moderators and admins can still delete posts, though. So occasionally, especially on really slow mobile connections, where someone’s managed to post the same thing two or three times, they’ve just asked a mod. to delete the extra “copies”!

Anyone got a replacement ferrule for the westfield polished aluminium gear knob that they would sell to me? I've chewed mine up somewhat trying to undo it to get at the grub screws that hold the knob onto the gearstick. TIA Kevan
