I'd like to do an event in 2026. It's a pity the Isle of Man Classic has folded, but I'm also thinking of Northern Ireland or France. Does anyone have any experience of competing overseas? If so what events can you suggest?

Never big lad. You're my favourite... -
Hello... Yes plug an AP into each switch, set the SSID and password to match what you currently have and it should be all done... Choice of AP is entirely personal, and my personal choice is to avoid Ubiquity, which I am sure has come up. And of course budget is often a deciding factor. I find TP link to be acceptable most of the time, and I try to avoid home systems that have a "controller" like Netgears Orbi. I have no experience of TP Link Deco unfortunately. With regards to speed, wifi 6/6e and 7 speeds are theroetical. Most switches have 1Gb ports so that's the maximum speed possible. Most phones have just a single antenna so can NEVER get the full speed from wifi 6/6e and 7 because the speeds are predicated on both AP AND host device having multiple antennas so the data-streams can be multiplexed. I could talk about this for a long time. Most phones will see about 500Mb/s depending on all sorts of boring things that the adverts never mention... Oh yeah, forgot to add... 99% of wifi problems I see are not network related, they are user device and user-not-understanding-how-wifi-really-works related...

Barrie Giles replied to Jenko's topic in Westfields for Sale
Hi Jenko If your V8 is still for sale, can I give you a call this weekend to discuss? I sold mine (with TVR 3.9) last year and have regretted it ever since. Quite simply, I need another one. There is nothing else to compare. I'm 73 now but can't give the habit up, having some years of experience with similar in sprints and hillclimbs. Past competition now, but just the noise is enough to set my heart racing. Club member, of course. Barrie Giles 07967557958 -

I have a TP Link Deco M4R system, but it has started playing up.
-
I already have the M4R Deco, but for some reason it plays up all the time hence why I'm looking for another solution. I've been running it in access mode for a while then it suddenly started messing about👎
-
I also got a good result with a Cudy access point that I picked up for no money on ebay. Designed for multiple WiFi devices

A nice but chilly drive to and from the Ace Cafe 'Cold Turkey' meet this morning. Plenty of bikers, some classic cars and some good chats. The XI started up well without a choke and ran faultlessly.

I have wired Ethernet access to my kids rooms at the back of the house. Each room is run wit CAT6 direct from the router. Each room has a 4 port switch into which they have all other wired devices. The problem is, they also have loads of Wireless devices and the signal is not great. What I'd like to do is plug in an 'Access point' type device direct to the Ethernet cabling to create a WifI access point in their rooms. I should add, I also need to add a 2nd access point in another back room which gets virtually no signal at the moment at all. My questions are: 1, Having looked on Amazon (quick and easy to get), are the following devices suitable for what I want to achieve? https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Extender-Broadband-Booster-Channels/dp/B0B649T4TZ/ref=sr_1_39?xpid=rrkaBzWQ6huRZ https://www.amazon.co.uk/WONLINK-Extender-1200Mbps-Repeater-Wireless-White/dp/B0FR4FRCZM/ref=sr_1_17?xpid=rrkaBzWQ6huRZ 2, Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to run 2x of the above without issue between them? My main router does have 2.4G, 5G,6G and 7, although I am not currently using 7 (don;t think we have any 7 compatible devices). The bottom line is, I want to boost WiFi in 3 rooms at the back of the house that currently has poor connectivity. If I've not provided enough info, please let me know. Hoping somebody can help. 👍
