@7Westfield those look very similar to the XI wishbones.
-
interesting So, mine is the first variation if I interpret the chassis # correctly, it must be fairly early by the info I have, it's 71, laid down in 1985

To be honest that's not a Pre-lit because it is an early Westfield (clone of a Lotus 7) with Ali body. The pre lits that caused the court case with Caterham were the all fibreglass Westfield 7 SE built in the last part of the 80's. Chris Smith built around 800 of these and it was that success and the fact that they were cheaper to buy and build than a Caterham caused Robert Nearn to take out litigation. The red car is my first Pre lit built in 1986 and the other pic shows my current pre lit used for hillclimbs and sprints. Both have all glassfibre bodies and wings

The plot thickens we are now up to 3 variations on mine, the rear leg (both upper and lower) is straight, at roughly 90 degrees to the frame rail assuming the frame tabs are the same, it would seem my car could have a roughly 3 inch shorter wheelbase? Mine is equipped with a xflow, Ford diff, and Spitfire front uprights is there any count of cars so equipped? or how many came to the US? I know of one race shop that was building them over the winter, in order to keep staff busy

THis is a prelit top wishbone sitting on top of a standard track wishbone. I know the curved one is a prelit beacause I've built two pre lits and the curved wishbones came with both. I replaced them with the later wisbone to give better clearance for dampers and to increase track width and to provide better caster

How much of a project? What year, is it registered, what engine, live or independent rear? Iv a friend that wants one after going in mine

If you zoom in you can see the bolt heads on the right hand side of the picture. I'll dig through and see if I have better pictures next time pc's on
-
Yes an early prelit one. It always frustrated me that others had the ball joint that threaded in and adjustments could be made

Golden yellow and black is the best these days. But ai did have a fancy for Asbo orange and black previously. Saw a kawasaki green one and that was rather nice

Found this at the back of the garage from when I had the prelit(q511wjr). Any good to anybody? Happy to post. Make me an offer

I’ve just been looking at past Malvern shows for a future article I and a few others are aware of: came across a man in a Kawasaki Green Mankini! Few prominent members in attendance too! -

No piccies but tightened all the fuel hose clamps up yesterday after making the unpleasant discovery that 10l of what is now very expensive petrol had very slowly leaked out of the tank over the winter. There was quite a strong smell of petrol in the garage but luckily the leak was so slow that it had evaporated away over time and there are no ignition sources in there. Still, I can think of more pleasurable liquids to spend £15 on… Refilled the tank, put cardboard underneath the area, 24 hours later no leaks. Hoo-rah. Also discovered that the fuel sender unit was turned 90 degrees the wrong way so that the float wasn’t hitting bottom, so loosened the screws and turned it back. Not that it will ever read correctly, they never do but hey, take little victories where you can.
