Something Awry?
Captain Colonial replied to Stuart's topic in Club Boardroom & Website - Evolution & Issues
Two explanations, one highly probable, one barely possible but unlikely: 1) The system does not update that information instantly. It’s a sub-routine that updates the information periodically. Now that the other addresses are gone, it will eventually sort itself out. When? Sometime between now and The Rapture, I’m guessing. Sorry I can’t be more specific. Or… 2) Your fellow members living close to you are trying to send you a subtle message. -

Thanks @Captain Colonial. Yes I've moved 3 times in my 24 years of membership. It still hasn't updated my local meets though:

Something Awry?
Captain Colonial replied to Stuart's topic in Club Boardroom & Website - Evolution & Issues
I could be simple about this… but where’s the fun in that? I’ll bore you instead. I checked backstage yesterday, and there were four different addresses on your account. Only you can explain why, but I’m guessing that you’ve moved once or twice in the past. There are two different possible addresses on each account, a billing address and a delivery address. That’s because sometimes someone will buy a membership for another person at a different address. That’s where I think it went wrong backstage. You correctly updated your address in your profile, but the system retained your old addresses for billing purposes. Why? Eff knows. I also tried to remove the other three addresses yesterday and the system refused to let me, so I did the wise thing and walked away to get a glass of red wine. Today, they’re gone. No idea why, but they’re gone. So glitch gone as far as you’re concerned, which I will take as a win. Off for a glass of breakfast… -

Well done excellent tool your decision to make that extra long threaded nut is definitely the key to success with this ive heard others using similar tools that rely just on a standard nut have failed with stripped threads -
Just renewed my membership. Despite me changing my address in the system 9 months ago, the payment page still defaulted to my old address. I changed it again to pay, but it still went back to the old one in the confirmation Also, I now live in Hampshire, but my closest meets are still apparently Cotswold, Warwickshire and Black Country. None of this is a big problem, but it does seem to suggest that something may be awry in the back room.

So finally had a chance to get into the garage to sort the worn bushings out and try the tool i made. I made a couple of modifications including adding clearance where it butts up against the wishbone as some have larger welds than others, and also to make a custom nut with a very long thread to try to avoid stripping threads. This also makes it easier to use as a socket no longer needs to fit in. I can confirm that it worked - I knew two of the bushings were worn, but ended up replacing five as I found some of the others were worn. This was all I had to hand and I haven't even started on the rear suspension yet. Photos are the tool with modifications, the tool in use for removal, and the end result with the removed bushing on the tool. Installation was easier than removal. I changed the front upper bushings on the car without removing the wishbones so it ended up being relatively easy. I don't know why this worked when others have needed so much force for removal, but there was no significant rust at all so maybe that made it easier? -
