What3words is super handy. I wish more people would use it.
  3. One thing I did do was get the tank as empty as possible then from jerry cans put in ¼ then ½ then ¾ then the full amount of fuel for whatever size tank you have and (while parked in your garage with ignition on) see where the needle sits in relation to the relevant gauge marks. I recommend taking pics of each level for future reference, it's easy to forget 6 months down the road and you only want to do this once if at all possible! Of course it will not read accurately when on the move but at least you know when you park up for your local WSCC meet and brekkie that whatever it's reading when you've finished your full English will pretty accurately reflect what is actually in the tank at that moment. Don't forget - take pics of the gauge readings!

Beautiful wheels! I really like them!

New owner - what advice would you give to yourself back when you were first starting out?

Yes, but normally the manufacturer specifies "x" no. of miles or, "y" no. of year/months. Not many of us hit the mileage limits, but we certainly do hit the date limits. There's a certain argument to say that standing around for long lengths of time before suddenly working hard is probably a bit tougher on things like belts and other fast moving rubber parts; as it gives them time to age harden, before thrashing them at speed again!
  6. Great advice for any kit, and I agree, but I have found mine to be quite reliable and reasonably accurate. This is if it's stationary, when moving the gauge does go up and down a bit! I generally keep mine above halfway to be safe and never below ¼ full.
  7. If the tyres are ancient - check the other important rubber bits.... Aux and Cam belts (if fitted) - previous owner of mine hadn't changed the cam belt in 24 years..... "the haynes manual for the engine, says change every 60k miles, I've only done 9k....." It came home via Shipley.....
  8. I should have said, those are cold pressures not hot.

  10. Thanks. I seem to remember some of that from looking before, didn't know about wheel studs. The ones it has aren't that long so would probably need changing. The original roll hoop is more show cage quality so that might be an issue. I'm not overly keen on it for road use but there aren't many options.

Wanted: set of carpets in black for SEiW

Thanks all for the steers above - I’m going to try to get a set made to the existing samples - at least they should then fit - but may be a winter 25/26 project now for both cost & timing 🙏👍

  20. Not tempting fate here but.......I have 2 spare sets of jump leads free to anyone who wants a set. I put it on here as I can bring them to Kendal in june. "First come first served"
  21. It will be good to see you there. My westfield is more or less bog standard so you can see what is required with respect to rules. Double spring on throttle, wheel studs thread showing on wheel nuts , yellow tape on battery earth, little sticker showing off direction for ignition key, yellow tape or sticker showing tow point front and rear, timing strut, mot, tax, insurance and number plates. Roll hoop with bracing as minimum, height of hoop must be such that line from top of engine to hoop top would go over your head and your head can't touch the hoop. Hoop has to be specific diameter and thickness and welded. Seat belts have to pass mot.

Wanted: set of carpets in black for SEiW

And you might have a type 9 box in the mt75 chassis - so can’t go on that 🤣

Wanted: set of carpets in black for SEiW

You do. There are different chassis for different gearboxes, so a Type 9 chassis has a narrow tunnel and wide footwells, while an MT75 chassis has a wider tunnel and one wide, one narrow footwell and SEiGHT and Mega S2000/Sport 250 chassis, (though not the same), have even wider tunnels and two narrow footwells. This width variation hits pretty much every piece in the carpet set, too, rear bulkhead included.

    Willans 3 Point Westfield Harness - Red - £40

Hi still got them, if so can I take them. Thanks Martin
  28. Red 3 point harness suited for Westfield cars. No damage only general marks for use over the years. The buckle works well, not stiff or anything. It's been in regular use until a few months back where I swapped it out as I had non-matching harnesses in my car. Collection from Hailsham, or can post for £5
