2016 WESTFIELD SEIW 2.0 BLACKTOP ZETEC I’m selling my beautiful condition Westfield as I’ve had the opportunity to purchase another car. So this is a very sad post but moving on. 2016 on age related plate New crate engine from Westfield with certificate and covered only 13700 miles. Omex Throttle bodies on Omex 600 ECU Larger green Bosch injectors Stainless steel exhaust and foam air filter Regularly serviced and just had all filters & cambelt and water pump done Just Had another oil & filter for new owner with 5w/40 fully synthetic millers oil. Mapped and made a very easy and safe 179bhp with Dyno certificate Type 9 gearbox been fully overhauled with short shift and new saddle fresh and correct oil just changed. Ford 7.5” Cosworth diff 3.64 ratio with brand new LSD unit fitted and setup by Bara Motorsport Independant rear suspension with new bushes and fully powder coated arms New spax coilovers with progressive rear springs and drives beautiful on the road. Wide track front suspension with new spax coilovers new bushes all powder coated and looking like new. All geometry set for fast road use RACELINE lowered sump Powerlite starter motor & alternator Alloy uprights front and rear lifeline fire extinguisher Lowered floors LED headlights Turbo seats on adjustable runners with blue 4 point harnesses New momo 300mm steering wheel with B+H boss New AGM light weight battery High level brake light Westfield guages with digital volts and USB port all working Hi-spec / Westfield Uprated brakes all round new discs with mintex M1144 pads all round The car wants for nothing and had a big recommissioning over 2024/2025 Any inspection is welcome I have a ramp at home so can be viewed on the underside throughly. It's just behind the scenes notation for different generations of Westfield. The very first body design was what became the Pre Lit, this was a copy to a greater extent of the Caterham Seven. After a legal case saw Westfield being forced to make the body style unique to Westfield, they released what we now know of as Kit Bodywork. It wouldn't really be known as this at the time though, it was just the body style offered. Around 2000, give or take a year or two, (like much around Westfields, exact timelines are tricky, as there can be overlaps) the bodywork received a subtle re-style this is what we know as the ZK bodywork. In everyday use, it was still just the bodywork, for the first few years, but the ZK suffix was important to be aware of, as the nose, bonnet and scuttle were different to the previous Kit bodywork and couldn't be mixed from an aesthetic point of view. In the early mid 2000's the FW body shape was launched, as this was to be sold along side the "traditional standard" body shape, to avoid confusion, it became much more common to refer to the two as FW and ZK styles. There have been some sub variations to the body over the years, and chassis developments have not run neatly alongside body developments, each has been at their own pace. Plus parts are often retrofittable. So it would have been much harder for the factory to simply name them Westfield mk 1, mk 2, mk 3 and so on.

It's important that everything we do and show, reflects the ethos and make up of the Club, that includes our friends in MK's, GBS Zeros, Tigers, MNR's et al.

The forum has traditionally been it's own thing, and the web site primarily used for "finding" and joining the club, and gaining access to the forum. That's one of the reasons it got somewhat forgotten about and neglected in the first place. Historically, it's been more for potential members than existing members!

Hi All, Mid week meeting at Rykas Boxhill tomorrow evening, 17/7/25, 7:00pm onwards

I'm not sure if I knew or not .. certainly not visited for a long time if I did know about it (my memory is dreadful!). But .. one glaring issue is that clicking the WSCC logo on the top of the forums page just refreshes the forums home page, surely it would be better if clicking that logo took you to the actual WSCC webpage instead? Maybe this is the reason we didn't know about the actual website? there's no link to it from the forums?

I don't think the factory ever differentiated from a marketing POV and just changed what they supplied over time and we as owners have been left to play "spot the difference". My "kit" SEiW was sold in 1997 as a "Sport 2000". The invoice just says SEi Chassis and SEi Body+Det rear arches. The order confirmation says "SEi Wide"

I appreciate that info @Kingsterbut what I really meant is why are they called that, what is the difference between the two from Westfield's marketing viewpoint, ie why is one called 'kit', the other ZK etc? ie, not how to tell them apart but what is the difference between them if that makes sense?

Just to let everyone know, the new Club website is now live; as we were all painfully aware, the old one was terribly out of date, and also represented a different, older approach to the structure of such things, that didn't really take into account social media, and the spread of different on-line areas we now cover. The aim, apart from making sure everything was current, and would be easier to keep current, was to simplify everything dramatically, and rather than having multiple links to navigate around the site itself, it would serve as a hub, where you could find out about what we do, and then jump off into our other sites, such as the forum, from there.

As with everything, you have to go with what you’re comfortable with. i use an alloy tank, because I saw the damage it did to a members feet when a plastic tank split on the start line of a sprint, and scalding hot water poured down through the scuttle onto his limbs. The irony was, I seem to remember he was taken to the same A&E where he worked, and his colleagues took the p*sis mercilessly, once they’d got him comfortable.

Easiest ways to tell the two bodywork style apart is how the nose cone attaches to the chassis, and the shape of the scuttle where it meets the dash. Pop up some photos of these areas and we can confirm in a flash!
