    Lakes & Dales Tour 2026

One to watch out for is on the Lake District route, the Kirksone Pass A592 via Troutbeck, right at the end of the day is currently closed after a landslip that occurred last November. It is supposed to be repaired by Spring 2026, so before any routes are set this will need updating.

  6. Rather for EU buyers due to logistics, but sending to the UK could also be possible via private transport if something can be arranged. Bought these seats a few years ago, originally intended for MNR, but they were never fitted — only tried sitting in them a few times. For me they are a bit too tight (dimensions on the last picture). Also, plans changed and I ended up building a foam seat for the MNR and decided not to install a passenger seat to keep the weight down. Very good quality, robust build. Not especially lightweight, but really solid. (In the pictures there is only one seat shown — the second one is identical.) Price for all (2 seats + 1 set of mounts + 1 set of adapters) : 650 EUR Current factory price for this set 840E without shipment https://lusomotors.com/ https://www.rccseats.com/

@rdav Well done for finding the club, and welcome on board! You've obviously quite a big project on your hands, and the club can definitely help you once you've become a full member. With the state of the postal service and their ability to lose anything on both sides of the pond, I'd recommend joining us with electronic magazines rather than printed ones. It's only £35 per year and it opens up the full forum including Tech Talk, as well as the Downloads area where you can get 40 years of back issues, build manuals, build threads and all sorts of experience to help you through the process. Just go to the Store tab under the club logo on the main page, click on it twice and then choose Membership. (Yes, you'll be able to attach photos then as well!) Good luck!

Hi and welcome. I've got a paperclip and a drag here to attach or choose files at the bottom of the message box to allow me to put pictures on. I can't remember now if you get that as a trial member or not. If yours is a narrow bodied car there isn't a huge amount of width to fit normal seats. Mine just has a base and backrest and I have to rely on my own padding for the sides !

Something new for the summer ??

https://www.donkervoort.com/en/icons/donkervoort-s7-1980/ Given that this 1990 7-type with swept wings and a Crossflow engine and 22k miles on the clock is a mere €95,000 I’d like to announce that The Wench, a 1992 with swept wings, an injected CVH and fewer than 7,000 miles is for sale for a mere €94,000… such a bargain! Form an orderly queue below.

Especially if you use the car over winter, it's a good practice to treat the chassis with ACF50 or similar to slow down external corrosion. Also, as @Andrzej said, internal corrosion is an issue as well. Humidity trapped inside the chassis tubes can condensate with the cold, and start corroding the chassis from the inside. To stop this, there are specific products, like Dinitrol ML, which fully cover the inside cavities with a waxy film, preventing corrosion. You can get inside the tubes using the rivet holes if needed.

I am affraid that outside visible rust is nothing compared to what is going on Inside chassis (and wishbone etc ) profiles. When i have any rivets off etc access to Inside profiles always spray there Inside some protestant tectyl etc with long tube and mist . And NO contact with salt on roads . Outside is easy to see and clean and paint . Inside is issue. Below is wishbone bracket snap off. Outside was fine powercoat no rust. But when repairing - this thin 1 or 1.5 silly profile it was welded to.. rust.

I’ll definitely share more on the forum after winter. So far, after several heavy snowfalls and frosts of around minus ten to minus fifteen degrees Celsius, it seems to be coping better — snow is easier to knock off it. With the Carcoon, I’m always afraid I’ll tear the outer cover material with a brush. The material here is noticeably thicker. Basically, it looks exactly like the CarBubble Outdoor https://carbubble.uk/product/outdoor_car_bubble/ but the total cost was edit : approx 350 USD (almost half of that was shipping — did I mention how heavy it is? ). Pluses: – You can choose any dimensions you want, as well as colours, add a “window”, etc. Minuses: – Louder fans (there are two, but I use only one and it’s OK but still louder than really silent Carcoon). Plus or minus - depends : – The zip is positioned lower than on the current Carcoon (older had also low positioned) . Plus: easier to drive in and out. Minus: you have to bend your back more to zip and unzip it.

Yes, I have exactly the same assumptions. On top of that, I’ve got a bit too deep into kit cars — with only one small garage, I currently have three Carcoons standing on my driveway It’s definitely much cheaper than building another garage, although during the season, when I drive often, the constant zipping up and unzipping can be tiring / annoying. If the one from China turns out to offer good protection as well, it’s a much cheaper alternative. It definitely has a better lock, although the material is noticeably heavier.

Certainly an image not front recent driving, but better late… This one taken from a photographer in the Dolomites early last September during a long weekend activity. The photographer took this one while we drove up to Passo Giau…

Hello all, I am not sure how I didn't find this forum a while ago when I purchased my Westfield last year but here I am! I have a 1990 SE across the pond in the US and I am in the process of rebuilding the car to a drivable state. (I'd love to upload an image here but it appears I can only attach images through URL's, what's the proffered method for doing this here?) My Westfield started its life in California with the soul from a first generation Ford Capri as the donor car. It presumably lived this way until the previous owner had unfortunately blown up the old cologne 2.6 that was in it. I believe it has a type 9 5 speed transmission and I can't remember off of the top of my head the specific rear end. In the US there isn't really any aftermarket for the cologne V6s, especially the very rare 2.6L so finding parts to rebuild proved to be quite difficult. At the end of the day I would have a quite heavy 100hp at best boat anchor. This lead me to sell the 2 cologne motors (One was blown up and the other needed machine work done as well) to a very happy first generation capri owner. Now I am planning to go to a BEC route, I am thinking of going the Hayabusa as I presume there might be some existing megabusa parts floating around out there. If not, I know the aftermarket for the busa is quite extensive so its likely that someone else makes what I am looking for besides very Westfield specific parts. I still have a few other projects ahead of the Westfield unfortunately, but I am determined to liquidate some of them to get the cash and time to focus on this for 2026. However I would like to get a head start on the parts list needed to make this project a success, and I have a few questions. One of the main concerns of things I likely wont be able to make myself is the headers, does anyone have a megabusa header lying around that they wouldn't mind parting with? Or know which aftermarket header is most Westfield friendly? Honestly if there is a good place to find the driveshaft items (spline adapter and preffered driveshaft to use as a donor?) I've seen people using E46 driveshafts for this, that would be convenient as between myself and my friends we have a lot of E46 and E36 parts and cars lying around. I also need seats, my car unfortunately came without them. I see someone here has a Tillett B3.5 for sale. Is that something you would recommend for both the driver and passenger? I imagine my fiancé would prefer a more comfort oriented option if possible, however I do imagine that is a tall ask for something like this. I know it'll never be her favorite car lol. Thanks in advance, I'll definitely have more questions after I get off of work. Just figured I'd write something simple on my lunch break after I got the account activation email!
