Please help me to decide to buy a Westfield!

If you have a full screen the odds of getting hit by anything are tiny. I have always had aeroscreens or no screen and have only been hit a few times, a bee, a moth and the odd tiny bit of grit. That's over 11 years of driving kits.

    NEW PROJECT WANTED

Hi all, I am back on the hunt for another project! Like last time I am open to all options! Please let me know if you have anything suitable. Cheers Richard
  5. Hi Everybody. I’m looking for a bit of advice if you don’t mind. Firstly full disclosure… I have a major issue in that I am the most indecisive person ever when it comes to buying a car, it can ( and does ) take me months to decide on any car. My wife gets very frustrated as with anything else I make nearly instant decisions, but not with a car. I nearly bought a Westfield at the end of August, but didn’t think it would get much use this side of winter as we had a lot already planned so we turned the chance down. In addition my wife thought it was a bit raw and was unsure how much she would want to use it. After turning down the chance to buy a Westfield the plan was to get a MX5 next year instead but to be honest the thought just isn’t getting the blood flowing and I keep thinking back to a Westfield. The advice I’m after is to try and minimise buyer regret and hopefully persuade my better half to come along for trips out. So…. What is the risk of getting hit by something from a passing car coming into the cockpit from the side or something landing in the cockpit coming over the screen from the front? I’ve seen clear plastic wind deflectors which I’m guessing will help reduce the risk a bit. Is it normal to wear safely glasses / googles? If I used half doors does this take away the sense of freedom? I had a go in a car with a full window screen. I know the screen is a lot smaller than on a normal car but the edge of the screen seemed to be in my eye line. Is this normal, do you get used to it or is it an annoying quirk of a seven? I don’t really want an aero screen. Any other advice? Thanks in advance Steve

Thinking about a Westfield and wanted to say hi

My 1st Seven (a Tiger) was a 2.0 pinto on twin 40s. Went really well and sounded great if a little loud. Loved that car and engine. Had a Kent cam and was dyno'd at 152bhp, and went extremely well at that level.

Reversing Cameras - the best type to buy

I put one if these in my Midlana: AUTO-VOX V5PRO OEM Mirror Dash... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08FD2JKW3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It’s mostly a dashcam I suppose, but the reversing camera is pretty good and has guidelines. The reversing camera was my reason for fitting it, the rest of the features are a bonus.

    Fleece jumper.. (not hoody)

Try Oxford Motorcycle clothing, I have an Oxford Chill-out jacket and although not a fleece it does a very good job of keeping the wind out. This is similar to mine, although a newer model. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303790825881?chn=ps&_ul=GB&var=603800759078&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A15NMq4HSdRtSaNekTRVlsWA1&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=603800759078_303790825881&targetid=2448003509029&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9046662&poi=&campaignid=21690875706&mkgroupid=188473833775&rlsatarget=pla-2448003509029&abcId=10027099&merchantid=118965559&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21690875706&gbraid=0AAAAAD_Lr1d8yRxlg7U7PNtBTa5V626C8&gclid=CjwKCAiAz_DIBhBJEiwAVH2XwMDmuWLO_iefVAQoKxLU83WMd0HICM8uPkCe5omEpz4TiRrAXBcY9RoCHRoQAvD_BwE

Westfield Se.Na New FW Rear Lights

@Westfield Chesil Limited what’s the plan for a vehicle requiring an IVA? Do there lamps have reflectors to meet the IVA requirements given the original inner lamp pair were reflectors ? MOT requirements are less stringent, but you still need rigid reflectors to pass.

    Windscreen Pillars/Uprights without Mirror Bosses

    No longer needed.
  14. Well popped down a deposit on a nice Blue Q plate at Toybox Cars... Went with a Ford RS2000 Pinto as I wanted something that was super easy to work on and lots of parts available and not going to cost the world for upgrades when I do want to play around with it a bit Think it will be a good first Westfield. Just waiting on them to finish up some work so I can go give it a test drive.. but they have done a great job on it and looks awesome.. So signed up as a full member here as well.

Westfield Se.Na New FW Rear Lights

Yeah, for light fittings not designed to go on the back of a trailer or commercial vehicle, that's pretty good.

Westfield Se.Na New FW Rear Lights

That’s actually cheap compared to the lights on my Lotus - rears are £1360 +vat a set and fronts are over £1k each +vat.

Reversing Cameras - the best type to buy

That probably rules out what I had in mind then, sadly. East Yorkshire Retrofits do some great products and installations for VAG products. Good luck whatever path you choose!

Reversing Cameras - the best type to buy

My car is an Octavia 1.4 TSI mark two 2009 facelift model There is a tow bar with a large 5mm thick aluminium protection plate behind and I think a camera could be mounted behind this if a vision hole was made though the plate.

Reversing Cameras - the best type to buy

What year and mark Octavia do you have?
  27. I want to buy a reversing camera for use in my Skoda Octavia and would like your comments and suggestions please. As I understanding is that there are wired and wireless ones and that wired ones give better picture quality. Some cameras have active guide lines which show the predicted car path. The display can be in the rear view mirror or a separate screen on the car's dash panel. The price range is from £15 to £500 so what are good value for money ones?? Mal
