previous owner
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO replied to nikos's topic in The Start Line
@nikos the guy who helped get it started etc. Knew the previous owner of your car. He wasn't a WSCC Member and didn't appear to do anything with it. He just collected lots of cars and didn't really work on them. He may be able to put you in touch with him though. -
Hopefully its in someone garage getting ready for some adventures. Found this info on DVLA & MOT history for you.

Pair of Windscreen deflectors wanted
Kit Car Electronics and Essex AO replied to KevanP's topic in Parts Wanted
Hey Kev, here's how my removable polycarbonate windscreen works with a cage, I think you could do something similar for wind deflectors with clamps to the cage: The full cage width screen does seem to give less buffeting than I remember with a standard screen -

Yes, when I ordered my kit in 96, the detachable (wider) arches were an extra cost option over the standard fixed arch -
Any update on this for me? I’ve sent you a DM too.

Derby and Notts Club meeting 3th April, 7pm at the Clock Shardlow
Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts Joint AO posted a topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
Next meeting this Thursday 3rd April at the Clock Shardlow. Rob is still working away and I will probably not be there. Weather looks perfect so should be a few cars there. Garry -
The kit for my car was purchased in 1997. Is wide body with detachable arches (kit bodywork not ZK). Did fixed arch production continue alongside the detachable...?

Yep, '97 chassis SEiW fixed arches with cut outs. Also having to run ET37 185/60/14 wheels and tyres to stay within the arch. I always thought it was the ZK kit but maybe they did widen the arches post 2000ish.

No, I ran both wires down to the rear clusters, to ensure a good earth. I got a Hella light, a smoked grey one and the cable it came with was nice and neat. Opening it up wouldn't have made much sense or made it any neater. -
I have removed this from a Westfield SEIW to install a full roll cage for track work. £175 ono Please contact for more info.

So, one possible conclusion then is that earlier wide-bodied cars had narrower rear arches than later widebodies? Anyone know anything more?
-
Yep, no cut-outs under there on mine either. Mines registered 2014

Mine is the same as that yellow one, it's a fixed arch wide body from 1996 vintage -
Also just looked under the rear wheel arch at the reverse side of the lights there's no square cut out so maybe the yellow body is alot older than my 09 version which may never have had the rectangular light and would guess Steve's doesn't either as his looks identical to mine.

The more I look at the picture the more I think I think @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somersetis correct and it's lens distortion on the left hand side.
-
Just measured mine same as Steve's 1640mm
-
Just did. Mine is 1640mm across the centre of the rear wheels.

Would be interesting to measure the width and compare it with the figures in the post I linked to. The arches definitely look much wider. -
My tyre size is same too, 205s. I guess this is all just part of the wonderful world of Westfield! There seem to be so many weird variants that I suspect no one person has seen them all or knows about all of them?
