Gadge started following Westfield SEiW 1991 2.0l Pinto
-
Specification: 2.0 Pinto Kent FR22 cam. Twin Dellorto DHLA40s. Extended sump. I believe Aldon Automotive originally built the engine, but I can’t document this. 5 speed type 9. Cortina front brakes, Escort rear drums. Westfield diff housing. Full weather gear. 24,000 miles, although this may increase if the weather stays nice. Owned by me since 1994 but need the space for other projects. Hoping it can go to a home where it gets some use again. It had several trips to Le Mans in the 90s. It's always been a road, not a track car. It’s been off the road for the best part of 20 years (garaged), so I’ve spent quite a lot of time and a fair bit of cash recommissioning it mechanically. Have done about 200 miles since the MOT and sorted a few minor niggles. My intent was to make the car is mechanically sound for its next owner. It’s better now than it’s ever been, maybe I should keep it 😉 Recent work: Engine – timing belt and tensioner replaced. New fast road electronic distributor fitted. New coil, HT leads and plugs. Valve clearances checked & adjusted. Timing set. Oil changed. Fuel hoses replaced. Cooling system flushed and coolant replaced. 4 branch manifold and stainless silencer (with transferable lifetime guarantee). Gearbox and diff oil have also been replaced. Carbs stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt with genuine Dellorto service kit. Previously had rolling road setup and jetted. Recently balanced, good emissions during MOT. Brakes – master cylinder reconditioned (re-sleeved), front callipers replaced, new pads and shoes, new fluid. Seats – one of the original Restall seats had been damaged by mice so car now has some Intratrim Voyager (Narrow) seats fitted which suit the car as they are black with red piping, Original seats are in good condition (other than mouse damage) and available by negotiation if wanted. Seat belts ( inertia reel type as I find harnesses a pain) have been replaced. Fittings are in place for harnesses if preferred. Tonneau does have a rip (still useable) but I have a new (unfitted) tonneau, and a hood bag available by negotiation. New headlights, steering rack gaiters, ball joint boots, fuel sender and manual fan switch. MOT until end July 2026. Only advisory on recent MOT was “Passenger seat not fitted”, my MOT tester has a sense of humour. Tester was very complimentary about the car. Body work is in good condition for a 30 year old fibreglass car. A couple of small star cracks and the gel coat has faded in places. The chassis and suspension would benefit from some repainting and the carpets could do with replacing. Price - £7,250 Gary – 07551-883078 or email garydmahon@outlook.com. I’m in Nottingham. Please ask for more pictures or any more information.

Interesting, where have you placed your cold air intake? I'm always interested in how other turbo cars are done differently to mine. I'm in a similar situation atm though! Started to do one job, then decided may as well do as many as I can given September is closing in. -

Maybe a bit early, but the winter strip down and refresh has begun! Few changes to be made, hopefully next time it comes out the garage in one piece she will be more of a machine! 😁 -

I wasn't there in the Flying Carrot, I was in a grey Jag XK, just visiting to catch up on my kitnet mates. I had planned to say hello but somehow I lost track of you! 😂 -

Thankfully, the XI is meant to have the brake line run in the tunnel, on top of the lower chassis rail. The fuel line goes straight from the tank, which is alongside my right knee, to the engine bay. -
@Flying Carrot Steve Ah I’ve just realised you mean on the track 🤦🏻🤣 Probably adjusting my visor. You should of come over and said hello 👋🏼 Good to out faces to names
-
@Flying Carrot Steve Yes, we (the Dorset lot) attended the KitNet track day at Castle Combe today! Were you in your car? I can’t say I saw one plus mine was on the back of a trailer. Had a great day there, was really hot 🥵
-
I wasn’t going to mention that 😂😂😂😂

You also have a dodgy pic on page 8 🤣

Received my mag today and found I have two page 6's and two page 40's. Could this be a collectors copy/edition??😀
-
Thanks for the nice comments folks I thought I’d take some of the bodywork off (takes all of 2 minutes) to show the engine area a bit more, plus some more pics of carbon 😄

That will be @Matt_S, think they had a fun time -
Saw you today at Castle Combe! I think you half waved at me as you were trundling down the entry road from Avon Bridge to go on track but I may have imagined that 😂 I'm not sure if we've met before, I've met so many kit owners know that I do sometimes forget who's who! It was blooming hot wasn't it! Everyone seemed to have a good day though, hope you went well?
