  2. Just my input on this year's renewal following the decision to have electronic and paper options. Having gone to my account to pay for this year, the only options provided to me by the club was paper membership at £53.00. No option for the electronic membership, so I had to go searching for how to find and choose the option. How many less tech savvy folks and perhaps occasional web users are going to see this as their only option and decide in these hard times that it's no longer worthwhile? It would be such a shame to loose members in this way. Surely there's a better way during this transition phase to make membership Renewal straightforward and a pleasure to do. More than happy to help the club become easy to do business with if it needs some focus and time to achieve.

    Beginner-friendly track day South West

Hi! I'm sorry I completely forgot to report back. In short: it was brilliant and I had a fab time. Disclaimer first: my car is an absolute weapon driven by an absolute tool. I have not done any track days before - the few laps around Castle Combe I did in an Impreza and an Elise some years ago don't really count. So I have nothing to compare my experience to. The track was smooth to me in some sections and fairly rough concrete and tarmac in others. There was a lot of loose stuff in some parts for half the day - until multiple passes cleared it. At least one car ended up with a stone chip/small crack in the windscreen. The layout had mostly quite tight turns and one fast sweeper which also switched to off-camber halfway through. This one provided a great learning opportunity for me and I committed more and more throughout the day. It's an airfield so some will miss the elevation changes (corkscrew :-)) and I am sure I'll crave it. However, having nothing to hit and less to deal with was perfect for a beginner. There were 20 people in total - sold out - and probably only ever about 10 on track at the same time. This allowed me to drive my own thing for most of the time. Plus easy passing and - ahem - ample opportunity to let faster traffic overtake. The staff were friendly, relaxed yet totally professional. The atmosphere among the punters the same. I loved it and I am hoping to return later this year. If you have any questions please just ask!

Zetec blacktop alternator bracket NOW SORTED!

Excellent and hope it lasts. At least now you know it's a weak point and can keep an eye on it. I always check it during pre-run checks and especially before a long run, it's a good habit to get into.

    Haynes Breakfast meet - 4th May 2025

I have an aero screen, my teeth were chattering for a while but serves me right for not wearing enough layers! Great to meet some new westy owners. I had to make the trip as Stu promised me a bacon roll. I'd drive anywhere for one of those 😋

    Haynes Breakfast meet - 4th May 2025

I was booked into the paddock but decided not to risk it with the turbo boost loss issue I'm having atm. Looking at the 4 cars in the paddock, it looks like I made a good decision, all have screens amd some doors too! I'd have frozen is my guess with just an aeroscreen 😂

Peak District Run Out, Quackers Cafe, Sun 4th May

We all met at Quacker's cafe and because the sun was out it was warm enough to sit outside. Parked at Quacker's We went on a drive through the Peak District on remarkably quiet roads, up high, with great views in the cool, clear air. The sunshine accentuating the scenery, it was glorious and I must thank all you great drivers for keeping the convoy together all the while. Parked at the Traveller's Rest, Bradwell Lunch inside at The Traveller's Rest, it was freezing by now as the clouds rolled in Jake, missing from the previous pic More food required so we went down to The Pavillion, Baslow Parked at The Pavillion Cake arrived Inside The Pavillion, far too cold to sit outside Another fantastic day out in our great little cars and another quiet Bank Holiday in the Peak District, can't believe our luck. Thank you to everyone for joining us today and see you all soon x

It was great meet up. Here’s an uncluttered shot of the 4 paddock Westies….
  24. I decided to go along to this last night and glad I did. I watched some of the Caterham races and took part in the lunchtime parade lap which was fun. I met another Westfield owner who I think said had driven from Bath area, his car was an early narrow se in green but his had a Zetec in it,
