Exploring Car Handling Limits
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary replied to StevieG's topic in The Start Line
Yes, the very same. He's still using North Weald, I follow him on Facebook and YouTube. There's a few of us doing the Donington track evening on Monday, you're more than welcome to come along and get a feel for it. The Warwickshire day at Curborough is also great fun even as a spectator. -

2014 Westfield 1440 Megabusa...big spec
Flying Carrot Steve replied to woodsy01's topic in Westfields for Sale
Looks an amazing car! If I were younger I'd have it but I've done my bike engined years. Fabulous fun. Can you or anyone tell me, with the carbon panels all over the interior, do you get any buzzing or rattling from them ? -
Silverstone Festival 22nd to 24th August 2025
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative replied to marcusb's topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
With no @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO present and therefore no steering wheel to steal and hide, I had to resort to hijacking your phone and exposing your newfound foot fetish (I will keep it a secret I promise, what happens at Silverstone stays at Silverstone....oh oops is anyone listening?) Really enjoyed the event, and great big thank you for the ticket and another great big thank you to the ladies on the TVR club stand that were friendly and welcoming, allowing us to sit in their shade with a brew, bob on girls -
Thanks Rob. AW. Im assuming that's Andy Walsh, who used to run Carlimits. Both based at North Weald, although Google suggests Carlimits no longer operates. I remember that name from back in the day. Interesting to get your thoughts on track days too. Thanks!

Exploring Car Handling Limits
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary replied to StevieG's topic in The Start Line
The only one I know if is AW Driver Training, I've not used him but he knows his stuff. Track days are a good way of safely exploring the car. Curborough is quite low speed and Blyton has huge run offs (ex airfield). I enjoy Donington too, very wide lots of run off, and never feels crowded on track -

I bought my car last Easter, and ideally all I'm interested in at the moment are nice fun rides out with the family. Although I'm a massive motorsport fan, I've worked too hard to get this car to potentially ruin it on track, or worse, stuff it in a wall! That said, I'd love to explore more of the cars (and my) limits, without being too stupid on the road. My logic being to understand more of the limits, then knowing to reign it back in for a bit of margin. I'm thinking a nice open space would be a great place to play. Back in my Lotus days there used to be companies that used to specialise in car handling days at big open airfields. Is there anywhere that specialises in our cars that anyone may have been to and can recommend?

I never thought i'd be putting my Westield 1440 Megabua up for sale especially now after alot of time, money and effort it is running spot on, but next year on my bucket list is doing the Stelvio Pass and the other half won't go in this BEC.....she wants to go in a normal car as this one scares her too much so i've met her half way and i'll be getting a car engined Westfield.... i just haven't told here it will probably be as mad as this thing. I've owned it for nearly 2 years. The 1st year i barely drove it as i struggled with the typical on/off BEC clutch issues and the fuelling low down was awful. The start of this year i sent the car off to AJ Automotive...whilst there the clutch was fully rebuilt with the correct spacers, springs and plates...it now drives like a normal car clutch,A genuine Suzuki reg/rectifier as the copy one fitted was rubbish, new fuel filter and moved away from the hot engine in the engine bay, new fuel lines in the engine bay,new spark plugs, and an oil and filter change. It was then taken to Dan Page Motorsport for a new fuel and ignition map, end result was 219 BHP and what is now an amazing car to drive with plenty of power. It is a joy to drive now and always puts a smile on your face. I apologise in advance for the long for sale post but this is a very special high spec car. This is a very clean car as people who have seen it can vouch for. If it wasn't for the trip next year i'll be honest there's no way i'd be selling this. It's my 4th kit car and it's be far the best looking and performing i've ever had. So down to the price. I'm looking to get £20,000 for it ....it would cost you more than double that to build a car near to this spec. I'm not looking for a p/ex , unless you've got an equally spec'd up big power car engine Westfield with a roll cage. I'm situated in Walsall, West Mids
