Mirrors, Side Windows and Seat Ideas/ Suppliers. Can anyone assist ?
MarkWestfield posted a topic in Parts Wanted
Hi All, New to the forum and new to Westfields. Just purchased a 1990 Westfield SE narrow body with a Ford 1600 Crossflow. Can anyone give some pointers or contacts for the below ? 1. We want to change the mirrors as they don't give much visibility and rattle about. Want to change to a larger horizontal wing mirror and maybe a Le Mans style front mudguard mirror would be good. Any suggestions / models ? 2. We've head about and seen either acrylic or leather side windows. Just looking to stop a bit of wind blowing round the windscreen pillar. Any suggestions ? 3. Sharing the car with the missus, we could do with an adjustable seat. At the moment just a couple of seat swobs which we're packing forward with foam. Looked at a few fibreglass and aluminium seats with low profile rails, but our tub is only 38 to 39cm wide. Any suggestions, seats to loot at ? Cheers. Mark.-

What the postie brought today!

Ultimately, grip isn't only about the size of the contact patch, but tyre temperature is also involved, together with many other parameters. I've seen many schools of thought, on track most sevens fit large tyres as it is easier to warm them up, but on the road a smaller tyre has probably the edge, especially semislicks, as you can't usually warm them up properly. -

I'm about to replace my old front 185/60/13 R888 with 205/60/13 R888R. They still grip OK on a dry road - you're welcome to try those out if you want -

Android tablet so it can be used for anything really. Im just using it to monitor the sensors that are used for the engine protection feature of the ECU so if protection kicks in I can easily see why. -

I was hoping for at least Android Auto, Sat Nav, DAB etc but Netflix and YouTube is awesome! And obviously ECU tuning on the fly 😂 -

Hi In need of the following IVA parts for my recently acquired part-built XI kit: IVA Mirrors (wing and centre) 1 IVA mirror mount (have 2 already) IVA Steering Wheel This is the big ask..... if anyone is willing to sell the rear number plate/fog/reversing light set-up that they used to get through IVA, I'd be very interested. Yes, I'm lazy... but also I'd quite like to have an "IVA kit" that can be passed on to another builder after I'm done with it.

We’re at a campsite on Anglesey for the week. This guy arrived overnight, now I’m not au fait with these things, but I’m pretty sure that’s not a real flying carpet 🤣

Surrey Area 2025
Martin Hewes AO Surrey replied to Martin Hewes AO Surrey's topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
Just an update on Sunday, the other car club are meeting at 7 in Kent and then winding their way to Cowfold for about 9:15. Last time we had a couple of meeting points ( Silent Pool, Ockley, & Billingshurst) So far I have David, Gareth, Phil, Ian and Andy. So I think Ockley works for David ,Phil & Ian; Billingshurst for Gareth and we could pick Andy up at Buck Barn? I can then work backwards with timings. Last time the other group dried the damp benches for us 😉 -

Indeed there are! My next issue after the few jobs are done is the dreaded MOT emissions test! -

But smaller contact patch so potentially less grip? It's a complex thing I reckon, tyre choice. So many variables to weigh up, some good on one side, some good on the other. -
