  1. Today
  2. Hi all, I’ve got a quick question for you. I have two Westfields, both vintage models with a history in the championship and raced at the start of the Speed Series. I’m planning to do a two-day meeting and race eight weekends this season. Which car would be more fun to race? Here are the details: Car A: Road-going Westfield 7SE (1986) Engine: 1700 Crossflow, 180bhp Transmission: 5-speed Tran X H-pattern with LSD Modifications: Updated roll cage to current spec (since my original 1992 RAC roll bar wasn't legal). The car has been thoroughly checked and is race-ready. Car B: Modified Production (likely to be in Specialist Production) – Westfield SEIGHT (1996) Engine: Rover 5.0L V8 Transmission: Gatrac 5-speed manual Mods: Slick tires, wings Additional Notes: This car has been updated with a current MSA passport and the roll cage has been updated. From looking at sprint results, there don’t seem to be many competitors in the class, and hill climbs seem to be dominated by BEC 7’s. Both cars held records in their prime, but I know that things have moved on considerably since then. Realistically, do either of these have a chance at being competitive, or should I look into something more modern and front-running, or perhaps even a different model altogether? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! I’m hoping this might help others with older cars still in the garage who are considering getting back into racing. Thanks in advance! Ian

Was a great day, the batteries in my gloves died literally 1/4mile from home so couldn't have timed it better, I have a link cable to run from the car battery so will have to figure that out next time, Socks worked a treat too ♨️ The DRL's looked smart, I've LED headlamps to fit too but i need the buckets for them but mine are budget non DRL's haha

A great day out as usual and thanks to @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative keeping us on nice lightly trafficked roads. Good to meet @DannyTGS today. How were my new DLR's in your mirrors today? I've often thought about taking this pic as I pass it in and out of the peaks. Today I remembered and made it happen. As I was taking a Selfie. @Darren Harvey (not in his Westie) stopped to ask If I was Bagpuss! Stay tuned to find out how I replied! Have a great New Year All!

Peak District Run Out, SUNDAY 28 Dec, 10am Cupola

Meeting at Cupola, some of us arrived more toasty than others didn't they Mr Westwood? A table for 10, we had a few wonderful surprises today, with @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO and @aeg and Becky, even Bagpuss making a last minute journey in his little Santa hat, sat there on the bonnet. In the car park at Cupola. After a hearty breakfast we had a good journey around the Peak District, not too busy and roads in a somewhat dry condition, good for December anyway. We soon arrived at the Cock and Pullet (stop laughing) at Sheldon, which is near Bakewell We were eating a little bit lighter today as we were stuffed full of Christmas cake, this sentence does not apply to the Westwood's who might have had a full on Sunday lunch Thanks Becky for the photo's on the move and thank you to everyone for making the day wonderful, see you all in 2026, kiss kiss.
