Also thinking of a Westfield and saying Hi

My last 'toy' was a V8 Land Rover with the usual incontinence issues (desert patrol replica)... so I'm well used to the familiar whiff of oil, petrol and exhaust fumes😂 I'm currently looking at ramp options... again, that wasn't such an issue for the Land Rover

I’m trying to help my neighbour out who has just lost her husband. One task is to sell his cherished Ford Fiesta ST. He always maintained his cars and this one, whilst being relatively high mileage at just below 120k, is immaculate. All sensible offers considered. Located in LN10 5EX Viewings arranged though me so as not to disturb his widow. Currently SORN Just passed Mot this morning with no advisories.

  20. Another vote for Howden, 3 years since I brought mine, had quotes prior to buying from £190 a year fully comp fixed 4k miles - then when brought wouldn’t insure as I had “no experience with kit cars” - Howden asked about previous cars/bikes - listed Capri 3.0 to Range Rover & then no problem PLUS premium has gone down for both the 2 renewals since 🫶🏼🤞

Also thinking of a Westfield and saying Hi

Welcome to the forum Bob. When I first got my Westfield back in 2019 I stored it in a container for 9 months before we built the garage at home. There was loads of space. Easy to get in and out, to store other things, and to work on the car. The container was in a complex of containers where quite a few people stored cars, there was quite a community on a Sunday afternoon! The owner had sealed the containers and installed dehumidifiers so it was dry. Ramps were needed to get the car in and out due to a Westfield being very low and the container being slightly of the ground. The only issue I had was the smell... Whilst I could push the car out, to get it in the container, as it was raised, I drove it in. Then shut the container doors and left it for a week or so until I went back. This trapped exhaust fumes in the sealed container, which soaked into everything including the seats, carpet etc. After moving the car to my home garage, it took quite a while for the smell to go. (Or reduce to a more acceptable level, all Westfields will smell a little more oily / fumey then a modern tintop)
